That is one POOR excuse. I gave my Harley Low Rider to my son two years ago. Finally got tired of hearing the continual BLAAAAATTTTT of the turn-out exhaust. Bought a BMWR1200GSA. Quiet as a mouse urinating on a wad of cotton. I'm 76. Suspect I'll be riding on the day something serious happens. At least, that's my hope.

I must have misunderstood. You want to be riding your bike and have something serious happen? Like a heart attack? Or like running into somebody? I must have misunderstood.

I didn't word it very well at all - ovrszd. I just hope I can continue to ride for a few more years. Then, if I want to continue - here comes the sidecar.

And for you coobie. If I can get 75 miles without having to stop and stretch, it's a miracle. It's a bit lower than my back. My hinny will enter the "numb state". As nice as the BMW is - it's still my hinny cramps that are the limit between stops.

I had a friend that did the entire distance - Spokane to Sturgis( 830 miles ). Only stopping for gas & snacks. I think he had Jack Daniels riding shotgun.

I use to do that on longer runs. Tylenol & JD. Quit that years ago - that's not enjoyment - it's tolerance.

Very good friend of mine bought his first bike on his 60th birthday. His Son freaked out.

He bought a trike on his 80th birthday. Quit riding at 87. Said he didn't trust himself to avoid an accident. Was afraid he might do something stupid and hurt someone.

He was a great man. His Son is a whiner.

I've been riding since 1964. I even did flat track for a couple years. Never won - I was too old - knew I wasn't invincible - racing against kids 19-21. The good thing - I'm careful - never gone down. It's the drivers that can't see a motorcycle that have always spooked me.

Oosik your comment reminds me of the old joke. I want to die like my grandfather peaceful in my sleep not screaming like the other people in his car
