Grapple MTL eBay Inexpensive Root Rake Grapple

That's about 2.5 times the weight of my EA. On a bigger tractor, the extra 300lbs wouldn't be a big deal, but on my just-big-enough tractor - it matters. That's 25% of capacity, gone before I start.

Yours only weighs 200 pounds?

The shipping bill from the freight company for my 66 inch MTL grapple had the weight at 499 pounds as I recall.

Might be some fudging going on there to save cost. I doubt the freight company weights each piece as long as it looks close.

If I can get shook loose will pick up my MTL grapple on Friday from the shipping company.

Did you do your third function kit yourself. Or if anybody else did jump in. Hope I’m not hijacking the thread.

I have a third funtion kit I ordered, Link below. Not a lot of good places/room to mount on my 3550. But I kinda have an idea the only place to mount it. I will have to do my homework to install. As busy as I am with my job I may even see about having it installed. I guess one of the Mahindra dealers would install, but they may only install one designed for a Mahindra not a pieced together kit. I called around to make sure I was buying a kit that would work.

Mine is using a rear remote. Bought my tractor used and it was already installed. They did a very nice job making a plate for couplers and routing hoses. Have not felt the need to spend almost as much as the grapple to redo the hydraulics for something that works.

I'm planning on using my rear remotes as well, Flashpuppy. Exactly which size and model of the grapple do you have? My tractor is a Kubota M6800 and I was thinking about a 66" or 72" X model.

I called my Mahindra dealer, one of the service guys I spoke with told me the two quick disconnects at the back of my tractor would not work, would not work like a third function. I thought one quick disconnect would be power beyond and the other return to tank but he said it was not. I forgot what all he told me.

I keep poking around on this forum and will get enough info to be dangerous!

I think a power beyond requires a loop hose when not in use and doesn't have a valve installed.

A third function should already have a valve installed.

I'll let y'all know how it works out. It may be a bit small for my tractor but I am hoping it will hold up.

With a weight of 350 lbs I will have plenty of lift left in the loader.

My Mahindra has a BH; when that's not attached, the two hoses (which are part of the PB loop, and feed the three-point) must be plugged together. Since I've replaced my FEL valve with one with an extra valve, my old valve can be plugged into the rear loop, as long as I add a third hose for a true return.

I love my dual lid 60". Have used it numerous times since the ice and last hurricane with tree cleanup.

Last use was Friday, when I used the curved end of the upper jaw inverted to demount a tire from its rim.

So I have become lazier since getting my grapple. Better than taking the grapple on and off!

Seriously though, my MTL 66” has been holding up great. I have really used the snot out of it as well. For $1k, there is nothing to complain about here.

I am planning on getting the same one when I upgrade in a few weeks. For under $1000 delivered it is very affordable. Hard to justify spending double or more for part time use around the homestead.
