There is for *** addicts ( I've heard ;) ) so I'm sure there's at least support groups...

It's similar to the way people used to try to teach their kids not to smoke. You get locked in a room with every tool imaginable; and they don't let you out until you're sick of them.

It is both an inherited and a learned trait. Extremely hard to stay on the wagon when you were born with it. When I was 10 years old I had a pretty good assortment of tools already. Overhauled the engine in my dad's Willys Jeep when I was 13. All he did was coach and help get the engine in and out. No bolts left over either.

Oh, I'm a bloody tool tragic! I just got back yesterday from a trip to Launceston to buy one of those Knipex Cobra XL pliers that was mentioned in the rounded-drain-plug thread... whilst I was there, at a shop called TOTAL TOOLS, I also bought a Makita 1/4inch hammer/driver with 6Ah battery + a bit set for it. It's safe to say that I'm a Total Tool(man)!

When I first joined TBN, I was pretty much starting out fresh when it came to required tools; just some household maintenance stuff was all that I had before retiring here. I started a thread on recommendations to outfit my workshop... it went on for quite a while. One member even made a spreadsheet on all of the things I'd need.

:guilty: Other than the welding stuff, I've got them all now.

Mind you, it's getting harder each year to find a "Girly" calendar for the shed/workshop.

I don't know how you feel about guns but you might try googling 'Dillon Aero Calendars'.

It did at first on mine, too, but now there's just 3 ads for pipe wrenches.

I noticed the same thing except mine are now for the 20V Dewalt framing nailer and Dewalt 700ft-lb impact wrench which I've been checking out. Does anybody have either or both of these?

My buddy has the impact and it’s a hoss. I considered buying one on sale on Black Friday but I decided it wasn’t enough of an improvement over my current cordless impact to justify. If you don’t have a cordless impact they’re a lifesaver. I haven’t seen any cordless nailers that look practical. They’re twice the size of an air powered one. The cordless grease gun is pretty nice though.

Thanks. I'm having a hard time justifying the price for the nailer anyways. One nice thing about the power guns is that they will force grease into tired zerks that a manual gun won't.

Hard to justify 300$ for a cordless grease gun when you could get a good air one for 100$.Too many other tools on the xmas list.:D:drink:

I do not think he was referring to THAT tool.

Some folks just sit around, waiting for the chance to be "offended".

I just find it entertaining that he opened the thread anyway.
