At one time I owned 12 Jeeps. Currently own 3. It's an addiction. :)

My grandkids are old enough to own their now.

Really looking good, keep up the good work.

Currently have a JK and can't even image having more than one. It costs a fortune to own a Jeep. First you buy it, then you "need" a lift, then the tires, now a programer to adjust tranny and speedo, then there is the HD bumpers, oh that makes you buy a winch, then......
Does it ever stop????

I ended up building three of the portable tool carts . But mine are just pulled with a T-handle . A powered one would be very NICE !!.

I do a mix of field service and panel building in my shop. For field service currently I have a system consisting of multiple hand-carryable toolboxes/toolbags. I try to plan ahead and bring the tools I'll need for the job but it never fails that I get a call once I'm already out and I go straight from customer A to customer B. I might go to 3 or 4 different places in a day and after the first stop I'm always missing something I need. In my shop I have the 72" toolbox from harbor freight and full of tools it weighs 1,200lbs. I really need to start bringing that with me.

I need to be able to get it into & out of a customer's location quickly, easily, and without panhandling for forklift help. That means off the trailer, possibly across a rutted dirt/gravel lot, possibly up a loading dock ramp, possibly across pipes/cables/conduits affixed to the floor, etc., and then back across the same, and back up onto the trailer. Powered cart is my only realistic option. And I took it a step further and ordered some ATV struts for it. A full suspension LOL! So hopefully my cheap China toolbox won't be beaten to smithereens by daily trips on the trailer.

Very True, I actually bought a winch and more lights for it today , LOL I saw the harbor freight tool boxes today , they sure look pretty !!! I'm still nervous to buy very many higher prices items there. But I researched the Predator engines this summer and bought one, I loved it. So I bought a second one , Love it !!, I bought a third one , still in the box, ha,ha.

Todays progress shows the front of the mini Jeep now looking much better. My wife had me buy a winch for it for a early Christmas Present. She is so good to me. The winch looks perfect on the new bumper. I also added a few extra lights. I love Jeeps with lift kits, big tires and extra lights , a winch and roll bars. So that is what this garden tractor Jeep will end up looking similar too. At my age this should satisfy my Jeep buying moments. Today I will get back to working on the hood scoop and cutting out the opening in the hood. jeep 1.JPGjeep 2.JPGjeep 3.jpgjeep 4.JPGjeep 5.JPG

My first vehicle, when I was 16, was a 73 CJ5 with a 304 and 3 speed. That's the one that I should have kept!!!! I've had quite a few since then, including a 1942 Ford MB that I was going to modify to look a lot like this project, except paint it in Marine Corps Green.

After moving out to the country and getting a few tractors, I lost all interest in Jeeps and off roading. Just mowing is enough off roading for me!!!!!

Your skills are amazing!

I have trouble building a wooden box to keep crushed pop cans in!

Jeeps and Tractors , Oh YEA !!! I love them both !!! Thanks for the kind words. I was always going to build my daughter a cool project but never did. So when she had a son I have had so much fun building things for him. I built this hot rod tractor 5 years ago when he was just 2 years old. He loves staying at grandpas house.IMG_8689.JPG

Progress yesterday I attached the front headlights , they had just been taped in place before. I attached four hood latches and 3 side grab handles. The photos show me bending up two parts , one for the cowling to brace up the windshield and the hood weight . The other piece I bent up was for the new dash inside the mini Jeep. I did get the hood scoop painted yesterday but not installed yet.jeep 1.JPGjeep 2.JPGjeep 3.JPG

Yesterday I got the hood off and the opening for the air scoop cut out with the plasma cutter. Also made some hinges for the rear tailgate and attached the left side fender step. First thing today I will mount the hood scoop.jeep 1.JPGjeep 2.JPGjeep 3.JPG

Yesterday I didn't get much done. But I did get the hood scoop on and the fender side panel and the fender step. I also started working on the left side step. Today I will work on the windshield inner frame and the curved folding hinge bars . jeep 1.JPGjeep 2.JPG

The CJ style latches are a good touch. Are u adding a Horn? We have a horn on our Mule and when the 8 year old is on it I think the horn is his favorite part!

I wonder if that is still classified as a tractor, and therefor don't need to be registered to drive on the roads, it seems it should be..

Probably no horn, that might be a mistake, lol Not sure about registering it. They would probably classify it as a side by side orv.

Fellow michigander here. I do not think you can register offroad vehicles anyone. I know the laws on that changed a few years ago.

they must have an exception for snowmobiles, unless they don't need to be registered. anyway, agricultural vehicles, like tractors should not need a registration, there was a guy that drove his lawn tractor from New York to California without any problem.. this project is a tractor with a different body added..

Snow mobiles I believe just get a orv tag. Michigan would not be in between new York and California
