I couldn’t go to church with Ellen and can’t go to see mom yet, I feel much better and stuff is drying up but doc says not until all scabbing is gone. I feel like I have leprosy. LOL

headed to Florida in January to visit my friends with a home on the Intracoastal in Delray Beach.
Making reservations with a place in Jacksonville for one night going down, rate was reasonable and breakfast included.
Restaurant and nice bar on premises. Kind of a treat for me. Go to book the second night, coming home, and the rate
for the exact same room went up 40 bucks a night.

Why?
Big convention of health care workers in town.
Supply and demand.
Gouge if you can, everyone else does.
I got them to lower it by ten bucks but that's all the software would allow.
Reservation clerk at Indigo hotel very good, way above the normal, hunted down options quickly,
confirmation popped up on screen while I watched. All good.

But what a blatant example of why our health insurance costs so much.
Health care seems to have unlimited deep pockets for sending staff to Florida for the winter vacation...

And how much did your health insurance go up over the last three years? Those of you not on Medicare.
Maybe they'll hold a free room for you along with the junketeers.

It was 74° here this morning and forecast say 84° for high.

Happy to have gotten 1 1/4” over night.

We had our annual “Warm Up Ride” and dinner yesterday to get ready for our Texas Hill Country Trail Ride last week of September.

I got back to the ranch about 9 p.m. and got everyone put away. It started raving about 5 minutes after I got in the house. Good timing!

Radar says we’ve got more rain coming today.

The Hummingbirds have finally learned how to “play well with others”. This morning there were about 8 feeding with another 2-3 waiting somewhat “politely”.

Now that they’ve finally discovered the feeder (guess it was my full page ad in local paper?) I may get a second similar feeder.

68°F and .1 inches rain. A bit overcast this morning. I think we are to start getting effects of Olivia today.

A little damp first thing and going to be cloudy for most of the day, though with a bit of luck the rain has done with us for a while.

Youngest grandson was awake before day break. I heard my daughter up with him and was able to send her back to bed for a few more hours of sleep that are so precious to any parent with children who want to play instead of keep on dreaming. Yesterday he took a liking to my new cap.

Don, fancy dress for Halloween? What a marketing opportunity - just claim it's a modern twist on a witches cauldron and make a huge Instant Pot costume. Of course your wife is far too nice to be a witch - after giving you that second chance at life, she's more like a Queen of Hearts.

After my episode with Shingles I had a round scar on my forehead. Doctor said I can take care of that. Came back a few minutes later with a needle and injected something in the scar area. Probably Botox. Scar was gone in no time.

And those on Medicare had our Medicare Supplement costs go up, too. You can't win.

Without an Instant Pot

We have been caught without a Instant Pot. Son was over Thursday. Asked about them. Next thing I Know. Wife gets ours off the shelf and gives it to him. A re-gifted Instant Pot.
I guess it is better than the Blue Tote we gave him for his birthday last year.
Wife bought a new air fryer today. The one we had was not big enough.
