Just trying to decide what implements I want to roll into the 0% financing. Tough decision because the frontier implements are pretty pricey.

Can you roll in other brand implements that the dealer may sell?

My understanding is that the JD SCUT ability to accept certain implements is brand specific. Might want to ask the dealer if that is true, and if so, to what implements that applies to. The Frontier rotary mower they sell for the SCUT looks pretty heavy duty. If you are going to get them, might as well get them know if you have a use.

The JD loader pins are specific but any cat 1 implement should work just fine on the 3ph..

The 1025R has a limited category 1 3pt. Some implements won't work.

Found this on that GREEN tractor board that I can't post links to here on TBN. This post was from "Ransx77" Back in 2013 which is why it references the older 1026R:

This info is spread out all over the web, but I thought it would be helpful to put it all in one place, and perhaps it will become a sticky.

So I have a1026R. I am looking for a box blade and a land rake, and in order to get what will work best for me I've gone around and around trying to find the REAL differences between cat 1 and limited cat 1. Surprisingly, many tractor sales people don't know the difference. I just had a Deere salesman yesterday tell me that lower link spacing is smaller on Cat1 limited. NOT TRUE! The only difference is a matter of height due to the smaller wheels on some SCUTS.

This is what John Deere says:
"The limited Category 1, 3-point hitch is standard for quick hookup of 3-point hitch implements. Industry-standard link and connecting point specifications for Category 1 hitches are met, allowing implements to easily connect to the tractor. However, the low profile of the 1023E and 1026R may prevent the hitch from lifting some implements to the minimum height prescribed by the Category 1 standard. Thus, the word limited is added to the description."

I measured my own 1026R and find that with the iMatch attached it was almost 28" wide at my lower control arms, and there is plenty of flexibility to narrow that.

This thread on Green Tractor Talk caught my eye.

I'm considering adding either the AV20F 4-in-1 or AY11F Grapple along with the required third function hydraulics option. Not sure which of the two I would get better use out of. If the third function addon was available now I'd consider getting both (with the AV20F 4-in-1 in place of the standard bucket).

Some of the implements I'm considering:

Quick-Hitch 54" Front Blade w/ Hydraulic Angling - $1650
While it'd be nice to have, I feel like I would do just fine using the loader. My driveway is in rough shape and I don't see a blade working very well.

Frontier RT1149 Tiller - $1900
I feel like $1900 is a ton of money to spend on an implement like this. Then again, I'm probably going to have a hard time with doing some of my projects without it.

Also considering a landscape rake and/or box blade, but I haven't gotten pricing yet.

Yes. CAT1 is CAT1. Deere calls it limited because of the height restriction. Maybe Massey is technically limited on height as well but they just specify CAT1 in their literature.

This has been one of my issues with JD all along and the main reason I didn't want to go with them. Too many of their parts are JD specific and not fully interchangeable with the rest of the world. They do it intentionally to limit where people can buy parts. And even the parts that may be interchangeable are not called out that way. They use their own terminology to cloud some issues.

My LS dealer said they would add their 4' tiller (962 -GDT- 48) into the main deal for $1500 which means it would be part of the monthly payments.

I see, I had a Deere 2305 SCUT a few years back and bought CAT 1 3pt implements for it and use the same ones I bought on my Massey without any issues.. I do remember buying and older bush hog that it wouldn't lift high enough to my liking, there was plenty of stock in the pin area so I drilled some new holes lower so that it lifted it higher for transport..

Went back to the Kubota dealer to see if they could match the same price with the SSQA adapter. Still ended up coming up roughly $500 higher than the 1025R. Price difference got worse once I added in the tiller and a grapple.

So the final configuration I ended up with is as follows:
- 1025R TLB
- 54D auto connect deck
- 54" quick attach blade w/ hydraulic lift, hydraulic angling and extensions
- Frontier RT1149 Tiller
- Frontier AV20F Root Grapple
- John Deere 3rd function hydraulics

I won't have the third function kit for a couple months, but at least it's all rolled into the same financing.

1025R arrived on Saturday sans tiller, grapple and third function hydraulics. Almost immediately set to work on removing a large stump in front of the house.

Also got the lawn mowed and did some unplanned trail blazing after getting stuck in the mud between my sand mound and the woods. We had nothing but rain for about a week straight here in Central Pennsylvania so low lying parts of my yard are still a mucky mess.

Having fun so far but really looking forward to getting the grapple. I think it will make quick work of the brush around my property. My end goal is to clear the bulk of the brush and scraggly trees, leaving only the large healthy trees. I'll also end up moving and replanting some saplings around the property.

Planning to spend some more time tomorrow on the stump.
