You should look at Amsoil ath. 5w30. It is the best fluid on the market but epensive. I have been using it since new on my Dk50se.

They don't seem to cover hydraulic fluids but engine oils, yes. Interesting to see that some generic-named stuff (e.g. store branded) is very close to highly priced, big name stuff. I recently used data from here to assess a change in oil I'm running in all my equipment.

If I had the money to buy nothing but Amsoil I'd also likely be running something other than a Kioti. Life's a compromise, Kioti provided (for what I saw) a good value.

What could possibly be better than running a Kioti!

A Kubota. This is my opinion (only). I have both and the Kubota (though older, and a low-end model at that) is a lot higher quality (materials and finish). And Kubota's dealer network is tops: my Kioti dealer just continues to un-impress me (I'm now staring at another rear axle leak with 300 hrs- from the side that wasn't leaking before but the dealer resealed along with the other side that was leaking- in general, and with several things, they can't get anything fixed the FIRST time). Not saying that Kioti isn't a good machine, just that it's not top-tier like Kubota (which carries a top-tier price).

Do you think Kubota quality today is as good as the older models?

I couldn't say as I don't own a newer one. I just see Kioti as a less-mature manufacturer: this is borne out by looking at the dealer network (and the dealer feedback surveys). Again, Kioti is a good value; I was making this point- but, it's not a top-tier (which, again, carries a top-tier price).

We're getting off-topic a bit. I only injected my comment to bring up a point that "value" ought not be overlooked: highest priced may or may not get you the best value (but it's still likely the highest quality).

I bought the Kioti because of the value. More for the $$$. For what I paid for my CK2510 TLB I could only buy a BX25. A good machine but smaller and lighter. I don't regret the decision. I regret more not buying a tractor years before when it first crossed my mind.

On topic: I was at my auto mechanics shop and noticed they ad 3 55 drums of motor oil. The best being a Castrol 5w-30 Synthetic blend. (I wonder if when he changes oil on vehicles that should have synthetic he uses the blend).

This made me wonder what my Kioti dealer has in 55 gal drums for when they do service work? They don't let us back there and I'm never sure people will be 100% honest in answering such a question.

It would be nice if I could bring my own containers and he'd fill with just what I need.

A good CJ-4 oil from a major refiner is fine as long as it's the proper weight.

My Kioti dealer was using Mahindra oils and fluids, but is now using "Kioti" labeled stuff. While I'm sure that it's probably OK I'd prefer to pick my own fluids (though hydraulic fluid I'll continue to utilize what the dealer has so that there's less concern over any warranty issues). I've done my own research and am confident in the oil I've chosen: it's just barely inferior to some of the very best and expensive oils you can get.

Mine uses mahindra oils as well which I didn’t like so I went with my typical Mobil Delvac and used the Kubota SUDT2 when I did my own service. Mechanic argued with me that I should not be using SUDT2 in my Kioti and didn’t want to put it in but did say I could bring my own oil if I wanted as long as it wasn’t synthetic which just made me shake my head and stick with doing it myself.

Was this dealer Old O Farms in Belchertown? Why didn't he want you to use synthetic? You can PM me direct if you want to go off topic here on this.

I was just there today..told the mechanic I was going to change the hydraulic oil in my Ck2610 with Kubota SUDT2 . He said "use it..thats good oil."

Can the SUDT2 be bought anyplace other than a Kubota dealer? I can't seem to find it for sale anywhere else.

I doubt you'll find anywhere but a Kubota dealer and some online places. The last my son bought was $95/5 gallon buckets about 2 years.

I planned on picking up some at Ahearns in Spencer. I haven't really bothered looking around for it yet. I'll probably stop in on Monday and ask what they're charging for it.

Around here its about $21/gal. Interestingly, very little cost difference for 1 5-gal pail vs 5x 1-gal jugs. So you don't feel you're wasting $ getting the easier to work with smaller containers or only buying how much you need and not leaving a 5-gal bucket sitting around mostly empty....

???? Whay a problem with Synthetic? I won't use blends because IDK if it's 50/50 05 95/5 but I prefer synthetic (and am require to use it in the turbo) in my cars.
