still watching

I didn’t get any pics last night. Was out till 10 spraying, trying to get it down before the storm that’s here now. It’s coming along. Will be like a new trailer soon. I’ll try to get some new pics tomorrow. My shop is a wreck after this project. Need to pick up some more oil dry already

I知 ready to wrap this project up. Tired of messing with it and spending money on it. Still haven稚 gotten the money from my dump trailer but oh well.

So far we致e done

Sandblasted Trailer
Primed and paint
Installed all new led lighting
Brand new load range h 18 ply 17.5 tires and wheels
Removed and installed new fenders
Ordered all new hyd hoses
Changed pump oil
Bought 15 gallons of hyd oil
Build new pins
Built custom hook for the haul line after dropping a box

Hopefully I can get the bed on it tomorrow, run all the hyd lines and install the pump. If everything goes good it値l be just about done!

I knew I needed to rebuild one cylinder, ended up the snap ring was seized in there so took it to the hyd shop, $300 later it was good to go. When I picked it up I asked them to test the other one too. It was blowing oil everywhere. That was another $200.

Hello rustyshakelford, what is going on with the strange characters in your posts? Are you using a foreign keyboard or what???
Weird characters aside, an interesting thread and well done. It looks, as new.

Come on! There’s always lots going on. Just ordered a new plasma and upgrading to a much bigger welder. Have a Lincoln 210mp and going to a miller 252

Im on my iPad and for whatever reason when you use punctuation like an apostrophe or exclamation point it jacks it all up. If im paying attention Ill stop them from being used.

I think its just an apple thing on this site. Only one it does it on

Have it done enough to atleast get this box dumped out and see what surprises I have waiting for me. Hopefully I can run to the dump in the morning then we get to have fun wedding festivities for a friend. Wife and I are both in it. Will stop at the tag office on the way home and get the plate for it. Need to clean up the hoses in the front. The hose clamps I bought interferes with the pump. Took some trail and error to load and it didn稚 help it was on a hill but plenty of power with this set up

Awesome. It's always good to have progress to show for the money that you have invested.

Good progress, no to stay the course and finish it all the way... some of my projects seem to stall when I get the functionality I wanted..

Absolutely. Going to the dump should be an adventure since I’ll be the new kid on the block and not know protocol. Trash is 27-28 per ton and I’ll load with road base for 21 per ton for the ride home. I should be able to have all the boxes home this weekend and will be able to evaluate their needs.

On a fun note, the new plasma will be here Monday and have just about hope the miller 252 will be soon there after.

I had some hose clamps but they interfered with the pump. I had to ground one off. I’ll order two more and put them on the bottom for the jack hoses and get something for the others.

First trip to the dump went well. Went in around 18k lbs and out at 15k for a total of 3k in the one container. These have been sitting for 2 years so I have no idea who’s stuff or what stuff is in these. Loaded up with road base for the ride home and left the dump at 26,880 lbs. drive home was uneventful but I need to order all new brakes. I have zero brakes and the running lights don’t work. I’m assuming it’s a ground issue. Will work on that soon.

Went to get another’s box today but the floor is gone. Grabbed another one. Will have to hand empty the one with the bad floor to the one I got today. That should be fun.

I need to get some more pics. Hauled another load to the dump today and brought back nearly the same as the load on Thursday. I think I was within 100 lbs with a different size box. 3 buckets from the track hoe is the ticket to 11k of rock.

Figured out the running light issue, there a bad connection between two lights that kills them all down stream. I ran a jumper wire and back fed the other direction. Everything is good but I might cut the bad section to make sure it won’t ground out. Problem is it’s ran inside the frame completely and can not get access to where it is.

Can you tape a new wire to the old wire and use the old wire to pull in new wire?

I’ve considered that but for the moment I’m going to run it this way. I think I could just shove a fish all the way back there but the access is crappy at best. There’s no telling how many times they wrapped the wires in tape to keep them together so I’ll more than likely be having to run something down there to pull a new wire vs using the original. I really don’t want to require this trailer as I think it would be a genuine nightmare. On top of that the frame is 3/16” thick and hard to drill thru. New plasma will be here tomorrow and I’ll have more options.

Took another load to the dump but stopped off at a real rock place for a load. Total rock came out to 13k and gross was 28+k lbs. dumped it easily. Loving this thing so far. New plasma came in and miller 252 will be here Wednesday. I値l start working on the boxes and making them into something I can use. I値l pull the best two for use as a container and the rest will become flatbeds or sold. Could get 1000-1500 out of each of them I bet. They need a couple hundred in welding but new are 4K
