I have faith in Kando and this this will be successfully resolved. He seems capable but just a little more deliberate than most of us. I'm going with happy ending on this and one day it will be posted as resolved.

Still think sucking it out with a mityvac if possible would solve the problem. Or drilling a new drain hole and fitting it with a plug.

Then if it is so stuck and inaccessible, would it not be better to drill and tap a new plug?

It's all entertaining except to the OP who has to actually solve the problem. Dealing with a steel plug in an alum pan with only a couple inches of clearance because of loader mount hardware.

you must have the wrong post in mind, since the OP has posted a picture of it, and the pan is cast iron!!.. I'd do it for free, in a few minutes, but, live in New York, much too far away.. it's amazing no one in Indiana can't do this in their sleep, it's just too easy..

What is all the rush over this drain plug. Until it is removed it does not have to be refilled.

when you need to change the oil, it's best to drain out the old oil first.. and running an engine with oil past it's time is not good..

neither method should be used, since you'll wind up with metal particles, and worn out oil left in the engine.. and flipping the tractor over is the worst of those!..

the OP has a problem finding someone that knows how to get the stuck plug out properly, and is struggling on his own.. he has 100+ acres, so hopefully, he gets it fixed soon!.. by someone!..

I've worked on complex industrial machinery for the last 30 years and it all boils down to nuts and bolts. You start with the easiest solutions first and then work your way up the difficulty scale until you get the job done. I can't tell you how many times I have had to tear a machine almost all the way down to the main frame to extract a stinking setscrew with a stripped out socket hole. It is what it is. The machine won't work reliably with a broken XXXX so we do what we have to do to fix it...even if it means days of teardown and reassembly.

I am afraid the OP is sorry he ever asked for help at this point.

I had to do a timing chain on a ford 5.4 3 valve engine over the weekend. I thought I was going to have the same issue with that drain plug. But thankfully a 6pt socket, pull handle and a good shop hammer broke it loose.
