I have read the old posts, posted, got no response. I have welded them where they broke, then they broke again. Not in the weld but in that cheap, porous metal. My buddy and I have tried everything. I am checking in to see if anyone has responded to my earlier posts before I go back out and walk where I bush hogged and try to find the other end of my telescoping sway arm. The pins keep falling out. I thought maybe the grass or brush was pulling them out so I turned them upside down in the arms. They still fell out. They are the right size. My neighbor farmed for 70 years and he has been trying to help me on this never ending fiasco and we are trying to find a solution and not buy the same pot metal slotted, weak material. Any help will be much appreciated.

You mean this? I'd make a new set, if it were me.

Just broke one two days ago. The design is weak. I ground a groove in the center of the pin sleeve that attaches to the rear axle. Then used chain to make a new stabilizer. The adjustment is limited but a twist in the chain can get you a little. I don’t think this is a forever solution but it will get me by till I can find a good replacement.

1538 is about 14 1/2” long and has 7/8” hole on the rear axle and 1/2” hole on the 3pt link.

Thank you RNeuman. You are right. I have thought about chains but wanted to see other ideas. Everything will come close to fitting, then there is always that one thing I would have to change. I think I can make some out of good material, wished there was an easier way. I just found the end that came off, right in the middle of the pasture. They certainly messed this part up. Nice meeting you on here. I love the tractor but these stabilizers have to go.

That is close. The connection to the lift arms are different. I think I am going to have to. Everything else has “failed” stamped to it. Thank you tkevan.

Or I’ll use one of these two options-

IMG_5724.JPGIMG_5725.JPGIMG_5726.JPGI own the 1533 model and am having a problem with the left stabilizer bar sometimes rubbing against the back tire. I have the pin in the first holeIMG_5724.JPGIMG_5725.JPGIMG_5726.JPG but still because of the swivel piece on the stabilizer when I have my flail mower out from the tractor it will hit the rear tire. I've attached a few pictures of that side:

If the left side is rubbing then the right side would need more tension.

Where the 3 point links attach to the implement with the 5/8” (I think) pin I added washers to each side to take some of the slop out. That won’t help with rubbing but may help get you some additional tension.

The very beginning of my video shows the washers.

Let me ask you this about where the stabilizer attaches to the stud on the tractor frame. It appears that the stud on the opposite side is angled down and back towards the implement rather than coming straight out as the other side shows in the picture. Is that correct for that stud to be angled?

Sounds bent to me! That plate, to me anyway, should just have a hole- no stud. One could either attach a bolt or put a clevis through it.

Maybe more of a project then you want though...

Your right! The stud is half broken off and the plate hS been bent! I suppose I値l need a whole new plat with the stud! Not sure how hard that will be to do or have dealer do it!

That’s what I’m saying about that plate- I think the plate is good. The stud just side loads it. I’d just grind the stud off and drill even a 3/8” hole through it and put one of these on there-

Connecting Links - Grainger Industrial Supply

Either the double clevis or a quick link.

Or if you insist on using the factory stabilizer just put a grade 8 bolt through it.

Last year when my stabilizer broke and seeing what new ones cost, I took both to a machine shop and they rebuild both for under 40 dollars.
