Temp is 24 and looking for a high of 34. Wind ENE 10 mph.
We got about a inch so far. Add that to the 3/4" we got the other day and maybe after I go to town I will plow.

In 1990 I had a cabover Freightliner with factory air and non-tinted windows....I went to someone I knew who tinted windows and got him to put 35% (the maximum you could go in Ontario for front side windows in Ontario then) on. I totally forgot the truck had air conditioning and the windows were already tinted 5% from the factory. It looked good, BUT nobody could see in, even from 10' away. Whenever I ran through the scales I would open the passenger side window almost all the way to let in enough light so the scale guy could see me.
My current Freightliner has 25% on top of the original 5% and it is going to get retinted this summer.
There are some states that don't allow tint on the front side windows, so be very careful AND do your homework, first.

I've got a dump run this morning along with the food store and pick up a parcel at the drop point. Some couriers will come to the house, Fed Ex is one of them. Fed Ex brings my gold and silver right to the house. They brought my chains for the tractor and even dropped them in the open garage door for me. Purolator does not.

Going out in a snow storm could be a life and death situation, and the way I look at it, there is nothing worth my life.

Stay safe everybody

I keep forgetting about that when I go to Mom's. I need to show her a video on my notebook about a new stand straight walker. I don't think she wants to spend $600 for a new walker but then she does not have many expenses and I think her back and hands will feel better at night if her stress points using the walker change. Anybody know anyone with one of these?
Amazon.com: The UPWalker Walking Aid/Upright Walker: Health & Personal Care

We've got a couple of rollators and one walker, but have never seen anything like that UPWalker; never even heard of such before now.

29°F and some light snow flurries this morning, going up to 40° today.

My Wife's Sorento has the "dual" sunroof that covers most of the roof. There is a shade that slides back and forth to cover it from the inside. Last summer, that shade became stuck and wouldn't budge. When she took it to the dealer, they acknowledged that it was a fairly common problem. There is a weak cable that pulls it, and it is prone to breaking. Naturally, they cannot replace just the cable. Oh, no ... they have to replace the entire mechanism assembly, at the cost of $1600. At that price, it's still broken. She just doesn't use it anymore.

All you guys out east getting dumped on again, stay safe.

One of the big stories around the STL area this week is about a video of a stunt bike rider sticking his foot out to get a fist bump from a cop while he's riding a wheelie past him on Natural Bridge Ave (just a few blocks from where I work). Now that the video has gone public, there's a big investigation. I saw one of those guys a few days ago riding a wheelie in that same area, and a cop who was on my side of the road completely ignored him and just kept going. Yesterday, while sitting at the intersection in that video (Natural Bridge & Kingshighway), I watched someone blow through the red light and almost hit the car in front of me making a left turn, as a police car sitting in the left turn lane directly across the intersection from me again completely ignored it.

It appears that STL has a bit of a police department problem, at least here on the north side.

The police here are under orders not to give chase and the kids know it.

The low this morning was 17, yesterday was really nice. Made it up in to the low 50's and almost no wind. Today it's going to be back in the 50' s and sunny but with 10-15 mph winds.

Making the weekly trip to town today. The neighbor that had the health problems made it home yesterday. I'll go up see him when we get back from town.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

I'm headed to Verizon this morning with my Apple SE and ask them to compare mb charges between the phone and my MIFI.
The latter costs 45 bucks a month, if I can get rid of it, without slowing everything down too bad, for sure!
And they sold me the Apple too.
Taking this laptop with me to make sure it all works before I head out the door.
thanks for info.

On your SE, Drew, go into Settings, the Personal Hotspot. Turn it on. Set a password if it doesn't already have one.

On your laptop, go into the WiFi settings and find the WiFi network called iPhone SE.

All of this is in the instructions on the Personal Hotspot window in the first step above. Data rates are the same as what your phone already has, as all you're doing is using the phone's data plan. Be aware that laptops will pull larger format images and video than the phone, so you'll use more data when your laptop is tethered. That said, my SE only has a 2 Gb/mo data plan and when I've tethered my laptop, I didn't have any problems with exceeding the limits. YMMV...

Surflan, .75%

What’s the pre emergent application rate for sand burrs with Surflan? I’m asking because I have an area in back that is a former crop field and even with a thick grass barrier it’s full of burrs.

Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 7:45AM. Cloudy early with peeks of sunshine expected late. High 61F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.

Almost 3/4" of rain overnight, then a couple days of sunshine, followed by a week of showers. I don't mind the rain at all, and in fact wish it was a lot more than showers. The snowpack is still only 37% of normal state wide, and much less than that here in the north state. We need another March Miracle, and so far Mother Nature hasn't gotten the memo.

Moved a couple of area rugs around earlier to keep the Roomba from getting stuck, and now it's not going into the master bedroom. Found out that the "cliff sensors" that are designed to detect stairs and other ledges also prevent the fool thing from sweeping over dark colored floor areas. I found references going all the way back to 2005 about the problem! Also found that taping pieces of white paper or aluminum foil over the sensors is a widely used fix. Of course, that means the thing'll dive off a cliff just like a lemming, but there aren't any around here so this morning I'll give it a try. I did call iRobot and talked to a rather ditzy tech about it, but all she could suggest was that I deploy one of the light walls to keep the Roomba off the carpet. Now why would I need a light wall to keep it off the carpet when it won't go over it all by itself, AND I actually WANT the Roomba go clean the carpet? I was one click away from returning the whole thing at Amazon when I did the google search that turned up the fix. Still thinking about it, as I was also under the impression that the 980 was a new model, but it has been out for at least three years. That leaves me thinking that a newer model is probably coming soon, one that hopefully addresses the cliff and other idiosyncrasies I also read about, so Hazel may just go back into her box and take that last ride back to Amazon. We shall see.

Made the clutch adjusting bolt, but it's probably a bit long, though good enough for now. Also got a coat of paint on the Vanagon console, but the paint had gelled and it looks like it was splatter painted. Looks OK, but not what I was expecting. Today's grocery day, so I'll swing by the mechanic's to see what the excuses are this time around and also test fit the panel. The SPOT tracker also needs new batteries, so it's on the list, too.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

61°F and only .08 inches rain. A bit cool, but drier.

We love our heated seats. Feels so good on those body aches. Wish my Tundra had them. Also like our sun roof. Unlike many people, we rarely run the AC in our vehicles preferring the flow of fresh air.

Not much planned for today. Need to assemble a by pass for my UV filter so I can rebuild the filter.

Invited to dinner at friends later. My last splurge before concerted effort to lose some pounds.

Prayers for all

Be safe
Have a great day

Surflan, .75%

Thanks. Just looked the Surflan AS up, as I wasn’t familiar with it. Have you used it before on sand burrs? They didn’t show on the list of weeds controlled.

One of my neighbors tried DuPont Pastora (post emergent) with pretty good results. Application rate is 1-1.5 oz. / acre.

Good afternoon everyone-

We got 14" of snow which compacted down to 11" by the time I got around to moving it this AM. That makes +66" of fallen snow for the season so far; still below the norm. A couple of 2' drifts. Not too many divots dug up, but the one's that I did were decent sized :embarrassed: Not much that one can do with heavy, wet snow on top of soft ground surface.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all.
