Good morning!!!!

my brother in New Hope PA just sent me a video of the blizzard conditions,
at least 8 inches of snow on his back deck and coming down so hard you could hardly see.
He's a CPA and being kept out of his office at this time of year is driving him nuts, but they have emergency restrictions imposed.

Tried to call my MIL nearby there and comes back immediately saying line out of service. Not good for a 91 year old living alone, I'll be worried until I hear from her.
Having lunch with her on Sunday but that's a long time from now. No backup generator either. And it's cold out.

And I bet she's without power: this is the township just above her, ten miles away.
Winter Storm Update

All the rocks that I pulled from the garden sank into the mud of the driveway returning back from where they came.
I bet that some of those rocks migrated back to the garden somehow.

Where I grew up and where you are Jay the rocks I believe are/were mostly glacial moraine. Lots of granite. Lots of shale.
3 granite quarries within 16 miles of our farm, which was named Rockwood. So rocks I know, which makes the sandy soil here a real paradise
to work in. All those crowbars struggled with prying out rocks that seemed to never end,
like freaking icebergs where what you thought was small turned out not to be. Everything we did was stone age manual.
Crowbar and pick. No wonder my arms are worn out now...it's all that PA granite's fault.
And if all that hard rock was brought "down" by the glacier, it must have come from Canada or Maine or somewhere...right?
Perhaps from the Hard Rock Cafe...:drink:

I dont want the sunroof, but it comes with the premium, which i want for tinted windows. I had one car with remote start and loved it. Just hold the button down a few seconds.
Looking at premium tomorrow.

The good new is the snow storm accumulations have been reduced quite a bit. Now it's 7 to 10 inches...still wet and heavy though. Apparently, the storm tracked further East over the ocean

If you and I even with those  "social control agents" keeping scrutiny:(, walked in there in the same timeframe "we" would know;)  So would our partners  No decoder rings nor secret "signals" needed. Maybe the headwear. ;)

Yes it's glacial moraine and probably "till" as well(?). I did one too many google searches on high levels of steroids researching this. I go down in my lower field and "find" every boulder if I am digging a "hole." When the solar panel installation team put down 10 7' augers down 5' OC setting up the base for the solar panel erection they found none. No bedrock either.

We are living on the "Goshen Dome Formation." Yes there are a lot of "rogue" rocks/boulders around here that could only have gotten here by glacial actions; both going N and going S. The pebbles indicating stream actions are from everywhere. No shale here, only slate. :( All the shale and  sedimentary rocks = all kinds of fossil finds down in the CT River valley.

Yes I have those "Popeye Arms" w/o the tattoos. Every Spring another emergent crop of rocks with which to deal.

I wonder, how good are the aftermarket window tints you can buy at auto detailing outfits? Then you wouldn't have to buy a sunroof, and you'd probably have a choice of how dark you want the tint.

Few flakes, we were on western edge of the moisture coming north. Down near work, BWI area, got 3", but already melted tonight.

Ran some errands today and went to see mom for the first time. She was still so short of breath, pitiful. The nurse was supposed to check on her but I have not heard anything. One of us will check tomorrow. I came home and worked on the hatchet I bought about 1 1/2 mounts ago. A carpenters hatchet with a hammer head. Scrapped the finish off of the handle and shaped the blade so it is more the shape of a bearded viking ave so I can choke way up on it when doing close work. Still need to finish smoothing the cut and sharpen it. Will sharpen it like a broad axe so I can cut strait.

Have a great night. Ed

RNG, after market tints are great! I have both the Jeep and the Freighliner windows tinted. Keep in mind that IF you have factory air conditioning, your windows are tinted 5% from the factory. There is a maximum you can tint your windows and certain windows cannot be tinted, so you had better check with the DMV before you do the aftermarket tint. You can probably check that online.

How is the tint applied, Bill? A long, long time ago I tried the film stuff, and it ended up bubbling the first summer. Are the new ones sprayed on, or have they figured out how to make the film stick?

Good evening all. 34F this morning, clear sky, calm wind. High temp was 56F, winds stayed moderate, and high cirrus clouds started moving in near sunset. Men's meeting in morning, worked on picking up some leaves in the yard. Then put fertilizer down, with a pre emergent for sandburs with got out of control last year. Then helped neighbor with his locking lugnut on his trailer rusted in place and wrench key broke. Kroil to the rescue, followed by pipe wrench for removal.

prayers for all
Rip we miss you hope you and the wife are well.

We got a good 6 inches of snow, supposed to get another 3 tomorrow. Really getting tired of it. The Kubota got used twice today, morning and afternoon.

Prayers for all you guys, we seem to need it!

Good morning! Waiting for the sun to come out from behind the clouds and for a delivery of foamed wheels to replace the ones on my handcart that are always getting flats.

@jbrumberg there is definitely some erosion, but it isn't that bad. A couple of years ago I dumped many bags of cement, plaster, etc. that had sat around too long for me to risk using them in home improvement. I raked them around, then threw grain around to get the pigs to trample the ground. I at least like to think that helped stabilize the soil a bit. If we owned that place, I'd go for a more permanent solution. For now, that isn't the case. It has been convenient having the Goldoni over there as that way I can get out to the street without having to drive through the yard of our house.

Going up behind our house is just a long, straight path with a mostly gentler slope. Once I have the FEL, I'll fill in a dip on that path that creates a local steep elevation. Then add a gate to get between yards, I guess.
Black line is how it is, red line is how it ought to be:

28 right now and light to moderate snow coming down. High is to be low to mid 30's. Looks like 6-7 inches of accumulation...definitely wet and sticky looking at how it's sticking to the tree branches. I'm kind of surprised we didn't lose power...yet.
Tractor's plugged in and I'll head out in a hour or so.
Got my company laptop...might work from home today.

Looks like I have 10 or so inches. Wife will work from home and I dont have to go in till 11:00. Have a coffee and then tractor time!

good morning all. 27 degrees going up to 51 today in sunshine.
I hope to spend some time outside, nothing major planned.
I need to make one trip to Verizon today, could not find my wifi hotspot MIFI, thankfully for once I bought the insurance on this thing after losing it the last time. Need that gizmo for my trip this weekend or I'm offline. That won't do...
