I am probably going to go duh but how do you add oil to a B3300 front axle? I can easily find the vent pipe and the big yellow cap but is the cap a twist off or a pop out? I have turned it many times but it just turns. If it is threaded I don
t want to just yank it out.

It's just a push in plug. I use a pair of slip joint pliers to get a better grip on it, then twist as I pull up.

Got a chance to try last night. Had to eventually get a screwdriver under it and pry it out. Once out I found that some fine sand was around the plug making it stick. Cleaned it off with a bit of 600 grit and put petroleum jelly on it. Still a good fit but can remove it by hand now. Thanks for the reply.

I've heard that petroleum jelly can have a bad affect on rubber components. I would use plumber's grease. It used on O-rings and similar type components for a better seal in plumbing. And if it's safe for drinking water, you know it's non-toxic.

I have been using it for decades and never had a problem. BTW nice picture.

Same here. For over 40 years I have been using vaseline when installing radiator and heater hoses on everything from cars to highway rigs to bulldozers and never have had a problem. It makes the hoses much easier to remove when required. Just my experience.
