Good evening all.56F this morning, some overcast, calm wind. Overcast started clearing shortly after sunrise, wind rose to a moderate level, high temp 88F. Went to chapel, light putter mode after making breakfast. Listening to the Youtube of the Cream reunion concert in '05. Got to see Eric and Steve together in Omaha Ne, in '09

6.5 inches of rain last 24 hours.

We were dry, but not unseasonably dry. Hope some of you that needed rain are getting some.

Got a little rain this morning, then went and got some mums for the flower beds, cleaned out a lot of summer stuff. Finished the install on the wheel weights on the little Cub 1864, then cleaned up and headed to the nursing home to see Mom. Looks l8je some more rain tomorrow. We could use it.

Good morning all.

Some days just don't go to plan and mine came undone yesterday as soon as I tried to get a few tools together before mixing any sand and cement. Despite being in my hand only two days ago, I just couldn't see my rubber mallet anywhere. Wasted almost an hour searching until finally admitting defeat and asking my wife for help, although even her usual mystical finding powers failed this time. At that point I gave in to fate and took a nap.

Woke up inspired - had left I it in the wheelbarrow, under the shovel ? Err, nope, not there either :confused3:

With over half the day gone and feeling well and truly fed up with myself for being so stupid, I decided to go and drag some weed out of the pond and went to the barn to collect my waders - and immediately saw the mallet. It must have realised I wasn't going to play it's game of hide-and-seek anymore and had settled itself into a comfy position, right on top of the pile of bags of cement. :mur:
Try again today ...

I bet others could use a tool like you made

It's nothing fancy, just a bit of metal to let a slab come down like a castle drawbridge.

75 high of 83 rain and wind now showers throughout the day. Rained very hard last night have to wait for daylight to see what the rain gauge shows

Roy agree harder and harder to get motivated

Looks like after this rain we go into another extended dry spell

73 going to 83...light shower, like a couple we got yesterday. Grateful for this rain, hoping for more.

Eric, smart tool, simple, but does a big job.

Mostly, I just listened to an Eric and Steve live concert recorded at Madison Square Garden while working out yesterday. Never saw Eric live, but did see Traffic back in the 70s at William and Mary...with JJ Cale.
