Hello fellows, first post here. I will thank you for the information that I am looking for now because I am certain I will get it from here. I have searched the Internet for the last two days and called several dealers but no one can give me a definite answer.

I am looking to buy a 110 but before I do I must know weather or not a fully, remotely controlled box blade can be fitted to it.

My understanding is a full remote controlled box blade has three separate functions. What I would like to know is: are these functions handled by the same system that controls the backhoe or are separate auxiliary remotes required for this. Thanks again!

All the backhoe controls come off with the hoe, you will need separate valve work to operate the box blade cylinders

:welcome: to TBN

A JD box blade ?? and if so what is the model number?

Boy , I am not sure I am following you. I always thought a box blade was three point hitch and pretty station area. Most have rip teeth that you can manually adjust their depth and you can push/blade backward. The are great for grading the drive way. There are rear blades that you can adjust the angle on or turn them around ba coward to push/blade backwards. Some of these rear blades you adjust manually. Some have a hydraulic cylinder on them and you can adjust them and never get off the tractor. The same hydraulic that run the backhoe. Please elaborate on what a full remote controlled box blade is.

He is talking about an industrial quality box blade that has hydraulic actuated rippers. Typically the tractors that have these box blades also have a top & tilt system for the 3pt hitch, (hydraulic top link and hydraulic side link)thus the 3 rear remotes required.

Thanks for the explanation, I have mostly an ag background. I learned something from this thread/post.

Well there it is. Quite obvious really. I wonder why I had so much trouble, I probably could have figured it out if I looked at a picture a bit longer.

I guess I will look into the possibility of adding a controll system, my understanding is that adding a full remote hydraulic system is not feasible on a 110 TLB.

I would think it's doable but a lot of work/trouble. Would need to start by building a 3 point hitch for the tractor and then connect to the hydraulics the same way the backhoe does. I have seen one of these just like you are wanting but it was on an older industrial tractor. The whole 3 point and box blade was removeable and pinned to the tractor just like the hoe. It had it's own valve/controls and connected to the tractor hydraulics just like the hoe. No reason you couldn't use the tractor's hydraulic system.

If you do that and build your own go with a 4 spool valve so you get up/down, tilt right/left, tilt front/back, and hydraulic rippers. I have this setup on my JCB and it works great.

I have a jd box blade bb1284 with a new 3pt top & tilt, I might sell. I will send you a pm

You should have the 3pt lift arms and position control on the tractor as is. Sounds like you may need the rest of the 3pt hitch, (lift rods, drag links, anti sway links) as well as getting a 3 valve rear remote system set up on it, and a top & tilt set.

All which can and has been done many times.

None of this is cheap how ever.

I've never taken the backhoe off my 110 so I can't answer from personal knowledge. However, I am aware of several 110's with top and tilt that the owners used on construction sites bought with the intent of being used primarily with box blades.

My 110 is set up for a box blade with hydraulic rippers, hydraulic top link and side link. I have the 7 function backhoe with boom mounted aux. flat faced couplers. The optional hydraulics have a 3 section diverter so you have three front and three rear circuits.

I recommend you find a 110 that has all of these options including the three point top and tilt hitch.

You'll need what I call a 3 section rear remote hydraulic system. It's a common enough addition to any tractor....but can be pricey.
I added an extra two lever, two section rear remote to our 1958 JD530 2 cylinder tractor 25 years ago and it cost over $1200 back then. But putting it on is just a matter of bolting parts together.
Just priced the same unit for our Kubota M59 - a similar size machine to the JD110 - and was told it would cost about $2500 parts and $500 labor using all OEM parts.
luck, rScotty

Everything depends on the 110. As a option for the tractor you can get 3 rear SCV's. If your 110 has that you most certainty can add that box blade. If it does not have that i believe you can NOT add it very easily and it would be a lot of $. Obviously you have to have the 3 point hitch kit as well for this to work.

Some helpful information here, thank you all.

I can see that I want at least two control circuits for the rear, one for a lift link and one for
the top link, a third for ripper control might be in the works as well. I have only operated a manually adjusted box blade. Would you all agree that the ripper controll is the least valuable of the three?

I will look at the cost and packaging for the third circuit when/if the time comes.
