We had a couple of light showers of rain yesterday. Not enough to get excited about but enough to keep the dust down while I cut a few acres of grass in the evening. It was one of those "doesn't get better than this" times as swallows swooped all around the tractor, treating me to a phenomenal aerobatic display in return for disturbing a few insects.

CjR, hope you managed to ride the storm.

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 69° with light rain this morning. Heading to 77° with rain off and on most of the day. Got started on animal barn yesterday. Not as bad as it looked from the ground. About a dozen nails and a couple of replaced supports. Will have to wait a couple of days to get at putting roof coating down. Metal roof is over 60 years old. Pays to take care of it. Going to be a mostly indoor day. Need to work on getting sander housing ready to pull what is left of motor bearing. If tool shows up at a decent time today.

Packing car, headed to doc appt early and then hit the road for 8+ hours.

67 high of 80 today showers and storms later but not too bad. Cindy by and large is going to miss us. Those affected by her take care

66F cloudy now upper 80's for high darn good chance t-storms later on today w/high humidity.

Todays plans... stop by work wish fellow co work from another area the best in his retirement,dump run,purchase new chain and file for chainsaw.
Hopes to meet w/tree service man today show the BIG pine tree needs to come down corner of driveway,other than that take day as it comes.

70 and soft rain, going to 88 and more rain/storms.

Took my wife for a day trip yesterday...went to the home of James Monroe, 5th President, near Monticello...very interesting history lessons...I never knew he took a bullet during the war, then as Ambassador, met King George...he bought the Louisiana Purchase for $15 million, even though President Jefferson only gave him $9 million...he borrowed the rest right there in Europe...then got fired.

Visited Trump Winery again...they have made some nice modifications in the last couple years...then dinner in Charlottesville at a Tapas restaurant to end a nice birthday for her.

"Can't live without"...I'll throw coffee in for me, and warm gloves for CWB.

Some rains moved through this AM, so I just got in from rearranging the horses for the day.

Spent the better part of yesterday mowing. Yeah, I am really close to my desired cutting height now, amazing how grass grows when people don't mow it. The fields need to be hayed, but my guy seems to have gone AWOL. I have a nice green paths where I need to go and nice brown straw everywhere else.

The swallow population here seems to have tripled in the last month, hope they leave soon, the inside of the barn needs a good wash. Got some lost pigeons in the loft. Need to find my plastic owl.

It's 75 out with the passing showers, more of the same for the next day as Cindy pushes past.
