90's today with high humidity, rain from the remnants of the storm tomorrow, then some cooling off.

The low was 48* this morning, going to mid 80's today. Yesterday high was 90*.

Weekly trip to town today.
Need to see if I can find that one thing I can't live without.

Lost my plastic septic tank&pump and a bunch of boards at my dock. A few broken trees and minor siding damage. I've got minor damage from Cindy so far. Right now I'm dreading the high tide that will add to the storm tide later this morning.

Daughter and son in law from Maryland stopped by yesterday afternoon for a few hours... used up some ammo and had some fun.

came in for some lunch and a change of shirt. Hot out with more thunderstorms this afternoon likely.
Put up new nut tree signs this morning, sure was hot out there in that field in the sun...but after weeding all the cages and putting up the little Ptouch name signs much easier to read
Still a lot of pecan trees doing basically nothing.

Back out to mow the fruit orchard, see how the apples are doing and then I'm done, escaping back to the a/c.
93 heat index, need to drink a sports drink. Most of them have a lot of sugar in them which I'm not looking for.
I think they are trying to hide the slightly salty taste. Just drank a large glass of diet cran mango juice, that was good.

68°F and no rain, but a bit overcast this morning.

Got the old Primo Grill cleaned up, firebox repaired. Will repurpose as a fire pit in the front yard. Wife looking forward to toasting marshmallows. Need to fashion a grate, a screen, and a rain cover.

At least it looks like a fairly nice day today to get caught up on things.

I made new labels for my nut trees using my Ptouch labeler. The name tags are copper; previous permanent black ink marker faded out, ink won't hold up to sun.
Will see how long these labels last. I use them on all my small engines: 10/30 Syn Filt Plug June 2017
But for today it will be Cape Fear Pecan

I did one more scan and found a little nugget...if believable, we now know where the term get the hook comes from

76F cloudy w/slight breeze.
Trimmer came to life 6am and trim edges of field also spruce trees area,almost 5 hours and decided to give trimmer a rest of the day off than couple good hours bouncing gave field low hair cut. now kicking back for the rest of the day might do little puttering outside before dark...might.

Good evening all. 73F for the start, partly cloudy, calm wind. Temp only made it to 87F, cloud cover increased to complete overcast, and moderate wind. Got front mowed, teeth cleaned in town, came home and napped. Not enough time for bike ride or change oil in truck so that is on tomorrows agenda.
