Spend yesterday afternoon cleaning up blown down limbs across the pasture fence. The damage was due to the high winds we had here last week. The grapple sure makes it easier for that kind of cleanup... A lot easier than replacing posts and stringing new barbed wire.

Sorry but no pics this time.

Don't know how I managed for so long, trimming and hauling limbs at the homeplace, without a Wicked Grapple. Work around the house has become so much more enjoyable!

Travis, are you telling us that that little bitty single jaw grapple saved the owner's back? Come on! Be realistic. He must have at least a 72" triple jaw grapple under that pile of brush. Stop making ridiculous marketing claims!

He definitely gets it done with a 2538 Mahindra and a tiny 60" Single Wicked. I love these stump pulling pics he posted a while back!

Now folks, I don't want to start an argument here  but those pictures show exactly why a narrow grapple is best for digging out stumps and rocks. Note that he used the edge of the grapple to get under the stump. Note also that the edge of the grapple is outside the FEL arms which means there will be some extra twisting force on the FEL as he curls or lifts. It would have been worse with a 72" grapple but would have been better with a 48 or 50" grapple that would have lined up with the FEL arm. I'm not an engineer so cannot calculate the forces exactly but I'm pretty sure that you get more than just linear increases in twisting forces on the FEL as you lift with the edge of a grapple. Narrow is beautiful.

A narrow single lid is also best for putting food in my belly!

I guess I might worry about twisting my loader too if I had a Kioti, but Mahindra's are pretty tough, so the extra few inches of grapple width on either side don't bother me at all. :p (Sorry IT - you started it...) :D

Now in terms of root and stump grubbing, I'd put a wicked grapple up against anything out there of similar overall size/shape. This thing is tough! At 60", it's only 6" wider on either side than a narrow 48", and grubbing stumps from the far tips is not a standard operating procedure. When I get on a real tough stump I always center it to make sure the forces are distributed properly.

Okay, I have to ask. Are you eating off of the hood of your tractor? :D

If I get this last bid I put in I'm ordering a Wicked Grapple!!! I have been reading and watching every video that I can on grapples. I see merit in the rake versions in my operation (grubbing out small cedar roots) plus I like the idea of being able to easily dump the brush/debris into taller trailers/roll backs. I demo a house every now and then and that would be quite handy.

My ideal grapple would be a 72" rake version that has been Wickedized.

I just picked up my grapple today and I've already put it to work cleaning up storm damage from last week. It's going to come in very handy!49.jpg51.jpg

I have the 60". I had originally ordered a 66" to cover my track width but decided to go with the narrow one due to maneuverability considerations in the woods.

What are you doing for hydraulics? Hope whatever option you selected will be ready to go as I imagine you won't want to keep that grapple all shiny for long!

I figured that would be a popular model for EA. Some things in life are worth waiting for.

Island Tractor, I had my dealer install a third function valve before I picked up the tractor several months back. WR Long kit so the control is mounted to the joystick so I'm ready to go there.
