Ballast 2x2x2 concrete weight box

Just to let you know that telescoping arms allows you to make the ball ends movable to hook implements up but the first thing you have to do is slide them back into the locked position. They are not strong enough when not locked up close.

Your draw bar is too far back, in the middle. Something that helps ballast work better for you is to move it farther away from your tractor! You have it tucked in too close. :2cents:

Your box should look like:

Nice touch with the "Kubota" imprint.

Did you mean mine should look like the weight box in the picture?

Thanks I thought it might be cool if it shows up good when done. Mainly I just don't want the neighborhood kids sneaking off with my weight...... two little girls live next door. So I thought I should mark it somehow.

Did you know the picture you are referring to is my box?
Yea, I "moved" (Photoshopped) the red bar and top link closer to the front of the box (actually, I'm guessing I moved it to the front of the box!?!) Look at it closely...

That's too funny,.. I thought it was an "after" photo that I might have posted as that is now exactly where it is now.

Having used my Kubota L4330 for several years now, I wouldn't even consider what was in the manual except for perhaps as a minimum number. In my experience the manual is way too conservative.

I have a 6' box blade that is my usual weight implement. It weighs 675 lbs, according to the manufacturer (LMC). In addition, I've added a 410 lb concrete, steel and lead weight box, plus it holds my Ratchet Rake at 110 lbs. Plus I have about 6' of 130-140 lb/3 ft (I think that's the way it's weighed). So that 675, plus 520, plus ~390 lbs for a total of 1585 lbs. As I showed last week, that 1585 lbs was barely adequate for a max FEL lift (large hickory trunk). (Both rear tires are filled with/RV antifreeze)

The max weight for a BB as defined in the L4330 owners' manual: 1040 lbs. The max weight for any implement: 1100 lbs (mower). Like I said, the owner's manual is way too conservative. The L4330 max lift of the 3ph is 2760, so 1580 is about 57%. Hence, 2/3s of your 3PH lift weight is a good start.

Good luck!
