45ーF and cloudy this morning, going up to a balmy 50ー today. We got a little rain overnight, but looks like we'll be dry until Sunday.

Carpenter came back yesterday and finished a few things; installed the hood over the stove, finished the backspash and grout, and fixed a leak with the faucet. The kitchen is now complete(-ish). :drink:
Wife celebrated by cooking steaks on the stovetop center grill last night. :licking:

Interesting to note that Lowe's fix for the measurement mistake was to add another upper and base cabinet at the end on the other side of the 'fridge. The upper cabinet they sent ... wait for it ... was the wrong size. It's 3" shorter than the rest of the upper cabinets. A couple of replacement doors they sent were also too short. (sigh)

Here's a closeup of the granite countertop.

Wishing you the best with your Mother, Don.

Looking very good PJS!

Just took delivery of the washer & dryer. I shall have clean clothes soon!

Just took off the bottom cap of the bevel case for the front axle of my tractor. Found a bunch of metal shavings. I assume they came from my gears :( It appears I got major repair coming up next.

Frost when I got up, foggy now, expected to be in 50s. Grass is really getting the green on.

Had to go to ER last night. My wife had cut a piece of her fingernail off prepping some bells peppers for snacks mid morning. She was able to stop bleeding but when our daughter took the bandage off to check things, it bled a bunch. They bandaged it and after talking to doc, decided ER was the plan.. short wait to check in, short wait to triage, long wait (2hrs) to be roomed, more waiting for nurse, more waiting for doc (PAC), more waiting while he chased down supplies he needed... got home after 2am, took over an hour for me to fall asleep, running on empty today. Wife is doing much better (they numbed her finger, so she did not have pain and was able to get some sleep)..

I hope your lady heals up soon.

30 right now...high in the mid-30's with some snow coming in. The snow will get heavier tonight....oh boy! It's Spring Time!

I did get 10 gallons of diesel yesterday, so I reckon I'm as ready as I'm going to be.

Health screening at work a few weeks ago had my BP at 180 over 120 something...follow up (a few minutes later) it was about 150 over 94. Went to the doctor's yesterday and it was 130 over 60 something. Well, got the prescription for BP meds anyway.[/QUOTE
That's how I found out I had high bp. It took a couple tries, but they found the Meds to keep it down. They also told me to cut down on alcohol 💩

Have you a reason to change the oil? If your tractor isn't too old, metal shavings aren't unusual in engines.

Maybe it is time for some bananas in the front end housing and a for sale sign on it?

Good evening all. 50F this morning, clear and light breeze. Wind came up, temp came up to 84F, skies remained mostly clear. Went for a ride this morning in the lighter wind, mowed this afternoon, almost got done. Apparently pinched tube during tire change, it was flat and had to use trek for ride

Well. That rust bucket and I have seen some really bad time together. If there ever was a tractor that was abused, it is my tractor. After the first hurricane, I was so busy so I just let the dealer fixed it. Come find out much later they did a piss poor job. I've used my tractor practically as a dozer to clean up 33,000 yep 33 thousand cubic yards of debris that floated onto my land after the two hurricanes. The debris actually included 3 float away houses that landed on my property. Then I used it for hours and hours to move 450 cubic yards of dirt to repair my house pad. Hours and hours of service with very little TLC that it deserves. Now that one front leg is essentially crippled. I'm just going to button it up and use it as a 2WD until I have some free time this winter.

Yup, it is a mange but it is my dog of a tractor :) I wish I have the time to treat it a little better but as it is both it and I will have to tough it out this year until I get my house in a better shape.

The bevel case sprung a leak at the right bottom cap. I noticed the leak and investigated. What I found were not shavings. They are rather chunks that are 1/8" thick. I'm pretty sure my bevel gears are shot. However, the shaft and bearings appear solid and there's no leak through the seals.

Good morning, overcast and slightly damp this morning, with high chance of showers on and off all day.

Have grandson coming soon, so to speed things up a little I used the old Subaru to get around the sheep in most fields. The battery struggled to find enough amps to get the starter motor to turnl. Fortunately the eager to please engine didn't hesitate to take the hint that I wanted it running. I really should find time to track down what is pulling power - or at least make arrangements to keep it on continuous charge if it stands more than a couple of days without use.

Mostly, pinched tubes are a pain. I once got a freebie set of cheap plastic tire levers with a magazine subscription. Not sure if they were cleverly designed or just plain lucky, as I never pinched a tube with them, unlike the metal ones I had been using before.

CajunRider, it doesn't sound like you want to part with one another after living through all that. The real test on how much you love your tractor will come one day when you get another one. I fully intended to sell my old tired Fergie when I got my Iseki, but more than 2 years on and it's still with me. It is a little jealous though and insists on getting my attention now and again by pretending it has a sickly part until I get the old imperial sized spanners out.

Hawkeye, sounds like your wife had a nasty cut. Hope it doesn't throb too much now the painkillers have worn off and she responds to all the pampering you no doubt will be treating her to.

47 going to 68 and no rain after an inch yesterday.

CJR, sounds like you have had to endure quite a lot during that storm to have that much residue to clean up.

Eric, have fun with your grandson.

On 2nd cup of coffee and 60 degrees here in SE Oklahoma.
Slide and swing are ready for granddaughter. Along with new pink bicycle in garage. Have to leave out soon to go get them at airport.
Moved all the implements around to behind shed and cleaned up shop yesterday and "kid safeties" everything.
Which brings up a point of contention with me and Her Highness.
As I went to open the 15 bags of mulch for the slide, I remembered that I had an old stainless handled knife laying at other end of deck that I use for cutting seed potatoes, gardening stuff, etc. That knife has stood firmly up between two deck boards in that little out of the way place for the 8 years we've lived here.
And it was gone! So now I am diverted into a "where the **** did I leave that?" game that sucks more and more of my time as I get older it seems. Finally, wife looks out window asking me what I'm searching for. After I tell her, she says, "Oh I picked that up and put it away yesterday. You can't leave that out where that little girl can cut herself !" " You should know better"
Been married ten years next week and she knows moving something on me without me knowing irks my *** and I swear she does it just to watch me bird dog all over the place looking for missing items!

32 and snowing right now....so far, I'd estimate we got about 10" with another 3" coming down before it's done. High will be mid-to upper 30's.
Obviously, my plans today will be clearing the drive, back deck and walks. After that...we'll see...

I guess New England got Mama Nature's April Fool's Day trick
