There are always things todo. But I like to spend time relaxing. While doing that it will not be long before someone stops by with something todo.

You do seem to attract odd jobs. You must be looking too comfortable. :D

Good evening all. 55F at the start this morning, cloudy and light breeze. The thunderstorms last night had more wind than rain, .3 in the rain gauge, no wind damage here but small limbs. Temp warmed to 78F today, after men's meeting wind took a break so made ready to go riding, by time was ready to ride, wind back up to 10-15, after finish 15-22 mph. After lunch and nap worked on getting and printing manual for her latest old sewing machine. mode; number not on machine, made it more of a challange, had to download manuals and compare to find one that will work.

Good morning. This is supposed to be our warmest days of the year. Maybe so later in the afternoon, right now I'm shivering. If I were tougher I would simply wait a few hours for the sun to come out. I'm made of weaker stuff and gave in to the temptation of the stack of firewood and have just lit a fire in the kitchen range.

Get puppy, Kekoa his license today ...

Owners still need a dog licence where you live ? They were abolished here in 1987. From last year it is compulsory to have a microchip implant, with the owner registered on a national database.

Or is it at different kind of licence Kekoa wants - did someone tell him his partents were gundogs ?

45 out this AM. Mowed the grass for the first time yesterday around the house. Moved some rocks around the garden since some flowers have expanded their footprint. Fields are greening up.

Road trip today.

Hope everyone has a great day and be safe.

cooler day today but still nice. Have another half dozen trees to plant, did about 8 yesterday, helper keeps bringing me "bargains", and they are....usually half price but some are pretty distressed usually from Lowes not watering them enough
what a busy day yesterday, but after waiting two years for it, finally got my rear gardens installed, so no more trimming around the house. I told my helper to give me some time to get the trees planted, so of course his helper shows up at 8am, and I'm holding up the works....So I planted steadily but quickly and then landscaping cloth laid down, and then mulch. Helper has a new double axle tilt dump which brings materials into my place with a lot less damage than prior big dump trucks.

47 slipping up to only 55 today.

Drew, landscaping looks nice...roses?

Eric, I still have a pile of firewood on the porch rack, hoping for that final big snow of the season, but looks like I may have to carry it back out to storage for next year.

Bush hogged another field yesterday...never saw my red tail hawk buddy until near the end when a rabbit dashed out for the trees. From nowhere the hawk appeared, but was too late.

Did some galvanized roof painting until I ran out of paint and energy.

Hoping for some more RS fish pix soon. Remember some of the earliest screen savers? ...simulated fish swimming around in an aquarium. Very soothing.

Billy, yes two tree roses, which will be kept pruned into balls on a stick...in the area that protrudes. Pink-red-pink camelias behind and to right. Azaleas on other side.
Twenty foot strip one foot wide of annual flowers in front of generator. Hot afternoon sun, need sun loving flowers. Hopefully not deer food.

Buppies, thank you, they say you can't go home again, but I'm just doing what I did as a kid, taking care of our farm in Pa. My grandfather was a stern fellow with a cane he kept pointing at places I should do better or do something to. He really was adorable though. My uncle who constantly visited was a naval captain of a destroyer, and for sure he wanted things "ship shape". That term, as a boater, has stuck with me.
But mostly it was my father who just loved to plant and garden. He like I pushed a pencil for a job and could not wait to get back to the soil.
My Father was not concerned about the trimming, but he sure wanted those new plants watered.
I'm just doing what I know how to. Change the alternator on my truck? No.

Drew the AC garden looks like it came out of a magazine. When do they Bloom?:D

Good morning! 53˚ clear a very nice spring day.
Whipper's pig kidnappings are having an effect on the herd of about 50 pigs that cross over our drive. The pack is not dwindling (I think they are multiplying) and they are not getting scared, they are getting MAD. My wife had to jump on the fence by the cow pen when one boar did not run but just stared at her like trying to decide if he should charge her to protect his herd. I tried to get her to "carry" with some blanks at first in the clip and then real bullets at the end of the clip but she does not want to. So now she has escape trees picked out about every 60' to jump up if the boar runs after her. There are about two placed down the drive where the mesquite trees are too small and I offered to build an escape stand. She blames Whipper for the boars protective new attitude. This is the beginning of the WAR OF THE PIGS.
I wonder if there is a Christy out there that relocates pigs instead of alligators?
Her no kill attitude must run in her family.

Eddy is the only one I know who takes in piglets. Don, does she know the pigs kill/eat baby fawns? They will take over and it will only get worse.

Somehow, my (newly turned 7 year old) son put a piece of paper in his ear. When my wife tried to eradicate it, it went all the way down and he is not very cooperative when he sees the tweezers. Also, the day before, he hurt something in his foot in a bicycle wipeout. There is no swelling, but he is crawling around on his hands and knees. So we are off to see the doctor this AM at 8:15

Another busy day here. Renovating a rental, did some plumbing work, starting drywall, if it stops raining enough to go get it.

Be safe guys!

Off to the big town today to get the landscape fabric and rubber mulch for the slide. And a trash drop off on the way.

Yesterday we cleaned the garage up and installed new metal shelves for Her Highness to be even more organized. She does glass jewelry as a hobby/business and slowly keeps encroaching. The two car garage now is a 1 pickup plus one golf cart parking area. And the pickup is only allowed in during stormy weather.

Now I have to go reclean my shop. All the extras seem to have gotten unceremoniously dumped into it while I was installing shelving!

Also had an hour on the tractor dragging the box blade on the trail behind house. Got about two beers worth of work done before supper. Yard is too wet and looking to nice and green to have the Ag tires on it.

Little girl shows up Saturday. Driving her momma crazy every day. Mom told her the airline tickets hadn't arrived yet for the airplane to fend her off but my wife made up some glittery colorful "tickets" and mailed them out to get there today so I'm waiting on momma's excuse now!

Good morning! Temp here is 26 headed for 41 Wind E 6mph and cloudy.

My HP 6500 all in one printer gave up, so I bought a HP 8710 to replace it. What a PITA to install and set up. The ink cartridges in the 6500 went in at a 45 * angle and you pushed down and heard a 'clock' and you were done. These in the 8710 slide in and you never know if they are properly in or not until you try to print.
The new video card arrived as well, that will be installed today after I get back from town. I am going from a Zotac Nvidia 470 to a Zotac Nvidia 1060. I got the video card because I wanted it, not needing it.

Well. My AC is still not running. I got the thing installed and wired up per the installation manuals that came with the equipment. The compressor will come on and cool things really well for a minute or two then cut off. Something is tripping it and I've yet to figure it out.

After waiting for weeks to get my rotary cutter in from Everything Attachment and got an early delivery, I was so giddy to try. I even took half a day off from work to get it from the freight terminal and brought it home. Then I fired up my tractor and noticed a puddle of oil next to my right front tire. I discovered that the bottom of my front axle bevel case has sprung a leak. I'm hoping it's just a plug and not a whole freakin' case rust through.

Then a storm blew through my area and did some damage on my house trims.

Nope nope nope. I'm not gonna say woe is me. I'm just pissed and determined to get them worked out.

BTW, doing sheet rock work to work off one's angst just made it worse. You are still pissed and now dusty and tired.

Have a good day all.

It's high time you really thin that pig herd. Otherwise they will destroy wild life in that area.
