55° at the farm. Was in the 70's yesterday. Dad remembers a couple yrs the road was drifted shut with snow on his birthday.
I'll be heading back home after worship, hope everyone is civil and safe.

Good Morning! 50F @ 6:00AM. Cloudy with occasional rain during the afternoon. High 52F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 100%.

Looks like we might pick up another half inch this afternoon, but most of the following week could turn out to be very nice spring weather, with highs approaching 80 by Friday!

Drew, I've had more than my share of idiots swerving into me on the motorcycle, but they don't even see the F250. No shoulder checks at all, no turn signal either, just turn the wheel and go. I wonder what your Subie would have done had there been no open lane for you to move to?

Nice ride into town for the anniversary celebration, and a nice turn out at the shop, too. I missed the free lunch, having not arrived until 2PM, but did run into some friends I hadn't seen in awhile. Of course all the new models were on display, but frankly none of them appealed in the least. Hopefully they'll appeal to someone, as I'd hate to see this dealer go under, as they keep an almost complete stock of parts on hand for the older bikes like mine.

On the way back home I spied an old Studebaker in my bodyman neighbor's driveway that he's been working on for the past year. It's a two door coupe done in dark and light green, colors you NEVER see on cars these days. Replacing it in his barn/spray booth was some modern thing with a badly bashed in fender that he'll make like new again. Probably take him 6 months though! And he and his son had just got a '74 Ranchero running again, a gift from a stranger when he asked what she was going to do with it. It's in pretty bad shape, having been resting in an orchard for 30 years, and he's got no money to put in it, hoping it will motivate the 16 year old son to find part time work to finance the project. That's the same youngster I've offered work to, but he doesn't seem too keen on breaking a sweat to further himself.:confused2:

Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday!

77° yesterday, 50's if we're lucky today thanks to the dreaded back door cold front. Back to the 70's tomorrow they say.

Good afternoon all. When I got up this fine wet morning the temp was 26F. It is now 32 and freezing rain.

Eric Salop,
Although I am considered the black sheep of the family, I was NOT in your pasture with my sheep boots.

67°F and no rain

Got to spend a couple hours over wine and beer getting to know a bit about our new cottage tenants. Think they are going to be a nice addition to the community.

Be safe
Have a great day

It was nothing I did, honest ! (no doubt PJ will claim that's what they all say ;)).

Now, Eric ... I would NEVER publicly impugn a man for choices made in private. :D I'm sure there were no sheep harmed in the making of that photo.

Been rainy here on and off all weekend. Looks like we get a rest for the next couple of days. Cloudy and 61°F this evening.

Good morning. It's that time of year when they play with our clocks, my phone adjusting itself automatically in time to get me up before the sun had chance to do anything about the frost.

Noticed the other day that the wood burner installed in my office/workshop has rust spots on the top. Rain has been creeping down the outside of the flue and dripping down. Got up there yesterday and found it had been installed with a tiny piece of sealant missing. Cleaned it all off and sealed with exterior silicone. The pipe is insulated twin wall so I'm hoping that should be ok on temperature. My head had told my body that it was a quick and easy job, the roof is only a 30 degree pitch. My body was not convinced, believing that I keep pushing my luck too much in denial that I am becoming an old man. I promised my wife that I will definitely will pay someone else to get up there next time something needs doing.

Drew, those trucks must have had you gripping the steering wheel almost as tight as I was clinging to the roof. Good to hear that your Subaru collision avoidance system was working. I wish that system was available on all their vehicles in this country.

I put in a wood stove last year, I used a high temperature silicone, it is red in color.

Good evening all. 47F this morning, (house was still 69F) sunny with very light breeze. The sky would cloud up then clear off, windy most of the day, and temp wormed to a balmy 82F. Garage organizing has paid off, got bot cars, golf cart, 4 bikes and a storm shelter in the garage at the same time :) . A bit more work to finish, but it is at least functional! Line of weather moving through tonight, Tornados north and south of here, but just thunderstorms overhead.

Got the last of my PV wires zip ties and last ground wire. Light sprinkle drove me off the roof before I could patch a couple of holes need to be dry)

Spent a couple hours with a few other people attempting site location recon for our internet situation. Not encouraging. Especially with lack of info only the current owner has regarding his other antenna locations.
Tomorrow I'll be evaluating my 2 alternatives in earnest.

Warm here today, maybe upper 80's. Went to church. Ate at Whataburger. Got home and worked on old Dell 530 Inspiron. Finally got it back online somewhat. Had to start with Vista disk in the drive from scratch. It came up and I couldn't get online until I googled it and some smart person posted links to the Intel ethernet adapter. First the chipset driver and then the operating driver....Got it going but I'm thankful for the internet.

Now after it finally started percolating, it came up with 108 updates needed...Oh my. It just finished all but said 4 or 5 did not work out. Required a restart, and now it's back to the startup repair window searching and trying to make repairs...This thing is still slower than molasses. I hope it works.

Yesterday, I mowed my place, and then loaded the mower on the trailer to go my my inlaws' place. Today, I changed blades on the mower and gave the front end wheels and steering a good grease and lube job.

Also jacked up the Impala and put on a new lower right motor mount. Not real easy. Took me about 2 hours and a half. Didn't even have to cuss under my breath. That is a miracle in and of itself. Only 1 bolt gave me trouble. Then I broke the oil dipstick of all things trying to fit my impact in a tight spot to re attach the top torque strut motor mounts. I was able to get the new motor mount delivered from Rockauto for about $21 total vs local auto parts that wanted $57 or $60 depending on which one I stopped at....While ordering from Rockauto, I got a new cabin air filter and engine air filter and 2 new wagner halogen low beam bulbs. Everything was only $41 total including the motor mount. Cheep.

Trying to get my inlaw's snapper RER going, the carb was toast. It was so corroded in the fuel bowl, the needle jet was frozen solid in place. A B&S version of a new carb was $150 but another brand with 5 star ratings on Amazon was only $38. I got a new air filter, plugs, fuel line, hose, fuel shut off valve and a fuel filter for about $78 total. Bargain. Hopefully, it will get the snapper rider going again.

My contractor, whom I trust from church, came by with a fresh estimate for my roof. Original estimate for a metal roof was right at $8000. His new estimate that had numbers from his sub was at $10,000. Ouch. We talked and he said the white painted R panel was driving up the cost. He said U panel was cheaper, and galvalume was even less than that. I asked him to talk to one more sub, and get them to requote with U panel galvalume. I was sure hoping to start this week on it. I hope I don't have to revert to asphalt shingles. My roof has such a slight incline, the tabs can easily get lifted in strong winds. That is mainly why I want metal.

Praying for a cheaper quote.

Good night and God Bless all.
