Finally decided on a grapple and ordered it yesterday. Have lots of work waiting on its arrival, unfortunately 3 to 4 weeks, although I should get the 3rd function kit to install in the meantime. Thanks for the pix and help, and the grapple thread was most beneficial...there are many strong opinions there held at the same passion as politics.

Laughed when I read that about strong passion, especially one person who knows it all.. Lol

Congrats on the grapple.

good morning all. Headed downtown shortly to buy new air filters for the Kubota tractor; I have read here one can wash the filters up to six times, but change them once a year.
Clearly for high hour users, and I have read of positive reports/results of dunking the thing in a wash sink with mild household detergent and out comes a huge amount of dirt from what only seemed like a grey filter. Once I get new filters installed, I'm going to try that on the old ones, they say the paper filter, made by Mann, has waterproof paper.I'm sure the inner and outer filters will total well over a hundred dollars. Hate to throw out a perfectly good filter if all it needs is a bath. Anyone else here wash their oem air filter cartridges?
The same size filter from Massey costs about a third less.

Lot of rain coming in for next week. Good for the willow trees though I might water them this afternoon when it warms up. 32 degrees out now, and will slowly rise, after wilting some plants, to about 53 today.

Good morning! 1 below this fine sunny morning and looking for a high of 32 F. Wind SE2mph. Snow forecast for tonight, no guesstimates on how much.

When I changed my air filter I put the old one in the incinerator and burned it, then read in the manual that I could wash it. OOps my bad.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 57° with rain this morning. Heading to 64° with some rain. Big change in weather. No patio time today. Wife needs to go shopping.
David, belated Birthday wishes for your wife.
Buckeye, Birthday wishes for your dad.
Drew, I bought new filters off Ebay for my b2910. Less than $20 for the pair. Compared to over $60 at dealer. You may want to give a look there.
Good Morning All.

I had to chuckle, even though Kubota allows it, dealers says oh no, never wash a filter, etc etc.
Of course, come buy an inner and outer filter for 130 bucks here...

Drew could you get buy with blowing the inner one out and replacing the outer one only?? Common practice in the forklift industry with the dual filter setups.

37°F and raining this morning, clearing and going up to 63° later today. That rain was cold this morning.

Electrician is supposed to be at the house this morning to finish his work. Finally. Tired of babysitting that guy. We have another electrician coming out Monday evening to give us a quote for the rest of the work in the basement.

I had already blown out the outer filter and it didn't change much. The inner looked pretty dark and didn't change at all under air. Of course then i find the new inner filter is a dark tan color, making it very hard to see if the filter is dirty. I'm going to experiment with washing both of the dirty filters and will let you know what they look like when I'm done. My understanding is that the inner filter should last at least several outer filters. Really depends I think if one is in dusty conditions, field dirt, excavation site dust, etc. Big difference than running equipment indoors or out on macadam. And to add to the mix, on their older diesel lawnmowers they actually don't want you to change the filters until some hour interval, seeming to suggest they like a dirtier filter due to improved filtering when dirty? I know air passage is restricted, but maybe there's plenty, an abundance perhaps on small hp diesels..., and a dirty filter traps more new dirt? I always thought I was doing the machine a favor to put in a nice white filter. Kubota does not think so.

A pretty, if cool day, but it looks like spring may settle in starting tomorrow. Hope you all have a great day.

28F and mostly sunny @ 10:30 ... going to a high of around 47 later today.

Calling for a high of 67F tomorrow with a 30% chance of rain and then highs in the 60's for the next four days after that, with chances of rain ranging from 50% to 80%. Might be about time to start thinking about yard work again.

Happy Birthday wishes to all that have earned 'em ...
