Thanks for all the well wishes for wife, she appreciated.
Happy Birthday to your Dad, Buckeyefarmer - Awesome.

My internet??? Lots of unknowns at this point. Our local area in danger of going dark end of month because someone decided not to provide the hop site. Terrain is a very limiting feature here. Apparently recently installed fiber is down and n the highway, about a mile away, but nothing coming up hill.
My provider is apparently giving it up after 14 years, much due to personal reasons.
One option being floated is becoming a community based provider, but I know nothing about it or how, but getting the proper signal would seem important.
Alternatives appear slim at this point, but researching what I can.
Any shared info appreciated. Strange how in 2005, internet was something of a luxury and now elements in my life require it.

If worst comes to worst, and you have no other options, HughesNet is now offering a 100Gb plan for about $100/month. You'll suffer delays (latency) from the time it takes a signal to make it to the satellite and back down, then back up to the satellite and back to you, but large downloads like those needed to update a GPS are still manageable. I get some video stuttering, but in the two months I've had the service, I haven't had to call HughesNet on any outage or other technical difficulties. Yeah, it's probably slower and more expensive than you're used to, but it beats nothing at all. If you end up going that way, don't go to the HughesNet web site or call one of their 800 numbers because the 100Gb plan won't show up. Instead, find a local reseller, and tell him it's the plan with 50Gb Anytime and 50Gb Bonus Bytes of data.

A dull day with a slight drizzle, although should clear up by the time we go looking at greenhouses for my wife.

Read in the local weekly paper that someone on the other side of town had their Iseki tractor and wood chipper stolen. Not many Iseki's around here - hope mine isn't also on the thieves mental list of those to target next  .

Buckeye. Happy birthday to your dad. I remember the photo of you both you put up last birthday, with that black and white sketch in the background.

26 going to 51 and sunny.

Happy birthday to Mrs. David and BEF's dad.

Eric, sorry to hear of the tragedy in your country.

I must have been holding my mouth just right because my splitter started on the first pull yesterday...first time on a cold start. I was sort of sad when I ran out of wood to split, so I may cut some more today after my haircut.

Finally decided on a grapple and ordered it yesterday. Have lots of work waiting on its arrival, unfortunately 3 to 4 weeks, although I should get the 3rd function kit to install in the meantime. Thanks for the pix and help, and the grapple thread was most beneficial...there are many strong opinions there held at the same passion as politics.

Good evening all. 61F this morning calm wind, cloudy but no rain. temps rose to 73F, cloud broke up some about 3:30, but wind stayed moderate today. Less than .1 inches of rain in forecast till next week, so Don not much rain to share. Men's meeting this morning, followed by bike ride, lunch nap and work on bikes ie tube patch, repair 10-speed front derailleur, change seats on 10-speed with Trek, after check out 10-speed going on chopping block.

I got sick of peddling too hard up hills and into head winds and went over to the dark side last week. It's got two on the front and eleven on the back with three power setting over all that. Should be able to go straight up the side of a building. Interestingly about a third of the sixty or so who turn up to ride each week are now on Ebikes. Tomorrow I have organised for about thirty of us to go over to another city and ride the 40K up one side of their river and down the other. If it rains it will become a test of the wet weather gear. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/images/smilies/new/cool2.gif

20 out this AM. Flowering plants last stand. Mother Nature plays no favorites this year. Ouch. Should be warming up now. Hope so, getting tired of the winter/spring teasing routine with the animals.

Grass is greening up rather quickly. Might have to actually cut the weeds. LOL.

sodamo, my area is engaged with attempting a local government build-out and operations of internet services. It carries a hefty price tag and seeks to expand services throughout the county. For myself, I managed to deploy equipment to boost signal strength captures and then disperse it to the farm accordingly. If you can figure out where your cell towers are, that may be an option.

wngsprd, I cry foul on the splitter. LOL. My friends splitter is still here with the fouled carb. I offered to get some professional help for it, but he said no. So it teases me as I work the maul. I hope today is it with maul time.

Have a great day all, be safe!
