Built a simple little thumb to help clean up the pines in front of my house and other general use. To keep weight down I made it from 1/4 inch AR400, the weight of the thumb is 41lbs and the cylinder is 18lbs. I need a flow restrictor some kinda bad because it's super jumpy/snappy I'll run by the hydraulic supply store tomorrow and see if they have a orifice restrictor.

Looks good. Can you elaborate on the pivot points on top of the bucket.

Elaborate how sir?

The ears look to be something I could make but I don't know the name and or type of pivot pin nor do I understand the role of plate (I'm assuming) and nut on the end/outside of the ear.

Yea, where did you get those offset pins.

It's simply a tear drop shaped keeper on the head of the pin it keeps the pin from spinning so the only wear is in the bushings on the arm and not in the mounts on the tractor. I drilled and cross drilled them to be grease able just like the ones on the loader arms. I'll have to pull them out soon to paint I'll take a pic to explain better.

Is the keeper and bushing a purchased item? Is the pin with keeper a purchased item or was that made. It looks like the zerk is recessed- confused how that was done.

Nicely done!!! How are you powering it?

As I recently learned, one restrictor in the ram end hose will slow it to a manageable level. As small as your cylinder is might need to be .030".

WR Long 3rd function kit I knew I wouldn't be happy with anything else.

I have a blank restrictor in my pocket now I was wondering where to start with my hole size.

Drilled it #60 or .040 and man does that seem tiny give it a try and see how it goes I guess.

You are gonna love this tool.

If your drilled hole is too small enlarge it the smallest amount you can each time until you get there. Understanding the flow rate between .040 and .050 for example is significant!!!
