Good morning, long lost friends.

A few of the heavily pregnant ewes that are slowest on their feet are in a little compound that surrounds my far barn. I had to straighten my "temporay fix" water pipe diverter that one of them had kicked away.

Temporary fix.jpg

How temporary ? Errrrr, must be over 10 years now ! :ashamed:

I should add this to the job list, only every think of it when wngsprd does work on his extended barn.

Also picked up some paint for the barn's final coat in order to be ready for the promised 60s and 70's for 6 days starting Saturday. You might remember my wife voted for red, I was partial to green. I test painted a few boards and battens last Saturday with some sample cans and made the decision.

So we have to guess your color choice ?
Ok, I'll try first - Green, with openings outlined in red ? Red & Green stripes ? All green, except for the 5' high graffeti - "Where Is The Red ?"

30 out now, headed up to high sixties, very nice day. Happy to report my friend from PA was able to take off and is coming down by Amtrak this afternoon, and this weekend we will plant my orchard trees together. If we get done on Saturday, we might go to work assembling the new wood chipper on Sunday.
randy, hope you are feeling better this morning.

Hope everyone has a productive day.

probably the only good thing about "winter whiplash" is that Wingsprd and Riptides get to do some painting, in between snow storms.

I noticed a few minutes ago that it was getting ever so slightly brighter out at 6:30am. Used to be pitch black at 7am. Yeah, more day

Sure is nice hearing from Larro, though I'm glad it's not me sleeping in a tent. I never liked camping out. Not comfortable, bugs, the whole nine yards. I grew up with 70 acres of hardwood forest behind me, so that's where I played, looking for Indians in the forest(for sure not PC today...), fighting back with sticks and mud balls... So being out in the woods was really neat, but I liked to come home at night.
Bugs in my bed is a serious turn off for me...; that feeling of waking up to something crawling on you. Not my idea of fun.
Woods to me is like South Florida, nice place to visit, and visit a lot, but no place to live...at least not in a tent.
But I can smile thinking of Larro out there this weekend. I wonder if Margie comes to visit or is this a male only event?
Is the basic point get away, be alone and back to nature?

First cup of coffee has been poured. 60° with mostly clear skies this morning. Heading to 74° with clouds. Site down yesterday. But weather was like day before. Going to take wife shopping today. The some patio time before the forecasted winter weather moves in for the weekend.
Randy, get well soon.
Good Morning All.

22 earlier when we went out. Nice fiery sunrise...radar showed some snow south of here, almost making it to Drew's neck of the woods. Should move up slowly to 57.

Heading back out to try to cut some firewood before the warm spell.

North Bay,On weather says it is 5F. I am south of North Bay, so I should be warmer. My thermometer says it is -27F. And it is supposed to hit 24F by 2 P.M. I'm not holding my breath. I have a small project on the books. Make a drop pin for my back blade.
I have a 7/8" pin and it is too big, so I will take the angle grinder to it and turn it down a bit.

48°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 72° today. Looks like they're predicting low- to mid-70s every day through next Thursday.

Going to attend a harp concert tonight in Columbia, IL. A couple of young ladies known as "The Harp Twins" (yes, they are identical twins) are playing full-size concert harps as well as their signature electric harps. Should be fun.

Dentist appointment this am.

Have a great day

I'm home as of about 1 today, had a scare yesterday, kidney function fell off and blood glucose was 467! They gave some emergency fast acting insulin, that dropped it to 276, another this morning hot it down near 200, I'll have to be on some pills for a while, kidney function was from dehydration and flu virus, that cleared up with a bunch of IV fluids, sugar spike was likely from the Medrol they gave me large doses of so I could breath, along with Albutarol. Don't ever think a Type A flu is nothing to worry about. I'm so weak I could barely walk across the yard 50'. End of my whiny story.:D

Wow Randy, even more serious than we thought. Glad you're back home. Haven't heard from Ed.

Electric harps! That would be fun to hear.

Thanks for the well wishes! I'm day two in the hospital with type A flu, had to back to ER and the tested for it this time. I lost two days that Tamaflu could have been working. Oh well I'm off oxogen and breathing treatments and feeling good just weak as a kitten. Hope to go home today but doctor hasn't been in yet. They have me quarantined.

Sorry you are going through that flu. Did you have the flu shot this year? Hope they get your internals back to normal.

Your body might be weak but your mind is still full of P&V! :)

Get well.

Good morning, after a week without rain I had many jobs planned for today that will be an absolute pleasure to do on dry ground instead of mud. No rain forecast in next few days either. Unfortunately the clouds above us couldn't have tuned into that forecast, it has been raining in the night and still coming down.

Pleased you are back home Randy. You may still be feeling weak, but you are doing a whole lot better than the birds around here that caught the H5N8 flu.

Not heard of them before so I did the usual youtube thing, after which the unblocked adverts on this laptop changed from English to Welsh (I live close to the Wales boundary and over there they are renowned for playing the Welsh harp). Did you enjoy the concert PJ ?

Can't blame him...he's still squatting to pee at his age
That's a good technique at any age, if you happen to live in a house with a low sloping roof.:)
