Batteries are installed and functional. Took longer than I expected, but suspect the two guys working are hourly. Pleased they did a neat job. They arrived at 8:15 and ready to work, so we were without electricity from about 8:30 - 5pm.

Good Afternoon. At 1225 it's sunny, 61F with 30% humidity. Forecast high of 64F with no chance of rain today, and a low of 40F tonight.

I got in 90 minutes of night hiking last night with my pack weight down to 21 pounds. The moon didn't come up until 2230-2300, so the stars were really bright. This morning I did a little over an hour without the pack. I must have slept wrong, because my back had a little twinge to it when I got up. It was pretty cool this morning. 41F in my shelter when I woke. I had picked up a pair of thermal long underwear at the thrift stores this week. Shell is 55% polyester and 45% wool, lining 100% polyester. I woke up 0430 freezing, so I put them on. Nice and toasty. Also bought a vest sweater. 85% silk, 15% cashmere. Haven't worn it yet, but I think it's going to do good.

29F now gusty winds.
Yesterday evening until late morning 8 1/4" clean up after work today.
Snow banks starting to show good height,high enough need to be careful passing driveways for some autos pop out some don't let of the gas doing so.

27°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 66° today.

Windows are in all around the sunroom now, and most of the drywall is up, save for the laundry room area. New concrete steps were delivered yesterday, too.

Glad the server "glitch" was fixed. I had to look elsewhere for my entertainment this morning while my tea was steeping. Hope everyone is well today.

Thanks for the well wishes! I'm day two in the hospital with type A flu, had to back to ER and the tested for it this time. I lost two days that Tamaflu could have been working. Oh well I'm off oxogen and breathing treatments and feeling good just weak as a kitten. Hope to go home today but doctor hasn't been in yet. They have me quarantined.

windy and cold day today, just about froze going to Lowes, they just got in their first shipment of trees, considering how many others I have to plant I felt good only leaving with 3... Two weeping willows, going in the wettest part of the field, and one Japanese flowering cherry, and that one I planted.

good news is that my friend from PA is able to come down and help me plant all this stuff, and he is coming down on the train tomorrow. Weather this weekend is supposed to be perfect 71 each day.

Cold and windy all day.

After my haircut and gym, picked up 40 blades for my tiller at the tractor dealer. 10 bucks a piece, but much cheaper than a new tiller. Now the fun part.

Also picked up some paint for the barn's final coat in order to be ready for the promised 60s and 70's for 6 days starting Saturday. You might remember my wife voted for red, I was partial to green. I test painted a few boards and battens last Saturday with some sample cans and made the decision.

Larro, when do you hit Springer Mountain? If you need company, I'll be ready to hike with you some when you get up this way. We went to a brewery/restaurant yesterday (Devils Backbone) that will pick hikers up at a trail crossing and give them a ride down to their brewpub.

April 1st, 2023, unless I can afford to retire early. I did ask my boss for six months off. She said I could go, but my job might not be waiting on me when I got back. I am hoping to do some section hikes on the Florida Trail this year, and maybe a week here or there on the AT next year. Would love to get to Trail Days one of these days.

Yea, the Devil's Backbone Brewery is a staple of the trail. They let thru hikers tent free on the lawn there.

Good evening all. 32F this morning clear and calm. Winds did pick up a bit, temp got to 66F, and stayed clear. Dog sitting overnight for the next few days. Still working on attach endoscope to tablet, and have a new project, dash powered down on the truck on the way to town . truck kept running till I got to town, would restart for a while then restarted, and I got home without further problems. Battery is not factory, unless it has internal intermittent short, not culprit. Which means have intermittent short somewhere else :thumbdown:. Nice weather for ride, and wife treated me to supper in town .

Boy, nice to be able to access TBN this morning!

22 right now...upper 20's as the high today. After work, I want to clear some more off the drive and walks. The weekend temps are supposed to be in the low 40's...
