Good morning! 48˚ 75% humidity. Inside 52%. Mostly clear a good day to be outdoors.

Yesterday I had a scare - contaminated water.
The water coming out of the faucets was the color of tea. The day before I had noticed water coming down the drive of a neighbor about a half mile away. I reported my tea water it to the water co. and after they checked around and then interrogated me they determined I was the problem. During the freeze I turned of and drained about half my water pipes and then cut them back on too fast causing a turbulence and all the sediment in my 1/2 mile 2" waterline broke loose. They said to just let my faucets run for a few hours and everything will clear up. I did and it cleared up. They said it happens quite often. Next time I'm turning the water back on very slowly to save 2K gallons.

20 years Roy - you are still newlyweds.

dirt or not I'm envious of your two inch water pipe Don. Glad it cleared out without some pipe disaster.
water here is .9 cents a gallon, just under a penny. How is it there?

I bet David/Sodamo would like to buy water for under a penny a gallon.

They make it a bit more complicated here:
Each meter unit: $35.00 minimum (no gallons)
0-3000 Gallons $3.50 per thousand
3001-10,000 gallons $4.00 per thousand
10,001+ $4.50 per thousand

31 this morning and headed to 41 today.

Take youngest back to doctor for checkup. Doctor wants to see how the breathing treatments are working. Then hopefully finish Christmas shopping. Was not able to sneak off from wife yesterday. Although she did inform me I was getting an IOU. Will try again today.

Ordered heaters yesterday. Hopefully pick them up today. Ordered 6 of these 250,000 btu models. http://www.lbwhite.com/files/3414/2653/6966/LB_White_Poultry_Guardians_60-325_10Jan13_web.pdf

Now if salesman will call me back about the box blade.

My drilled well (176' deep) cost me $12,000.oo complete into the house + $4,000.oo for the water softener, so 16 grand total in 2011. So to date my never ending supply of water has cost me $3,200.oo/year and that price goes down every year that I do nothing with the well other than use the water. The water softener costs me 3 40lb bags of rock salt/year. I don't think I am doing too bad as far as water is concerned.

Good Morning! 51F @ 4:45AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 53F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph.

Contrats to you and the missus, Roy. Many happy returns!

Never made it out of the house yesterday. Started a router upgrade to get better network monitoring, which led to chasing down bandwidth hogs, which led to not being able to access the 'net at all. Good thing it was a spare router. So this morning I'll flash it again and try not to change the wrong setting...

Off to town this afternoon for a haircut and to deliver some van parts. Maybe ride the motorcycle.

Hope everyone has a good 'un!

I have a newer router and when my work laptop was replaced, had some issues with Skype for business (all work phone calls) so checked router settings. Noticed that I had not set up QoS on the router so proceeded to configure it. It did not seem to help and never gave it another thought until my internet was down hard for 30 minutes. I figured something on the provider side, rebooting my network did not change anything. After being told that my ISP was working fine, I reset router to factory settings and configured it without QoS. It has been working fine since. I never went back to troubleshoot the QoS. I have to reboot router on average once per week, I will likely never buy another Linksys product, been looking at NetGear. My E8350 is "MU-MIMO ready" but they never came out with the firmware update to make it work. I think they rushed to market with that one, and now have released several MU-MIMO enabled routers.

I have two Lorex network cameras that won't reconnect when router is rebooted. I have to cycle power on both to get them to reconnect.

67°F and .05 inches rain since midnight.
Wife got a bit of mowing in yesterday while I worked on cleaning the swimming pool filter. Would have been best to replace the sand but I didn't have any. Flush one more time and put back together.
Wife's follow up urologist consult unexpectedly changed to today due to a cancellation so a trip to Waimea later this morning.
Ordered 36 new 280w solar panels for my electric upgrade. Decided replacing my older, smaller panels was the better solution.

Be safe
Have a great day.
