I'd say it's not chucks fault for working on the wiring, it's Mahindas fault for not making a safety switch that wont last a year. My tractor is almost ten years and the neutral switch still functions with out issue. Me, I hate change, but do like improvements.

You have to remember NEITHER safety switch was the fault that prevented his tractor from starting. He wired around both and his tractor still would not start.

In the chaos it's easy to forget the obvious. :)

I think I would jump the switches before I cut the wires off.

I was thinking the same thing, or for that matter get a couple of straight pins to pierce the insulation and use your ohmmeter or continuity checker and actuate the levers. It ain't hard to do, and it is even quicker that cutting and splicing. Not to mention it don't tear chit up..

Sometimes a few minutes of "step back and reflect" time is beneficial. But it don't play good in videos. :)

I can remember many old "tough dog" electronic devices I have worked on that were so frustrating and you just beat your head against the wall, and If you would just quit and go to lunch, and come back and fix it in a few minutes. Also another strategy is have someone else (provided they are competent help) take a look at it. Often a new approach will find problems. It doesn't mean that the next guy is smarter than you, he/she was just a different person with a different approach.

Did he ever determine what the problem was? Was it the solenoid?
