Tractor
None at this time.
I am working on my elderly neighbor's 3910. Her family is spread out all over the country so when they come home, there is little time for using the tractor, much less using it. Anyway, I am thinking 15-40 same as any diesel. Wouild that be a good choice or what would the resident Ford folks recommend?

Thanks in advance.

10W-30 is what's recommended for my climate-temperature range. I am about 60 miles north of Paducah, KY and normal temps range from 5-100* F

Per the book:
10W for -13-40
10W-30 for 0-100
15W-40 for 10-100
20W-40 or 20W50 for 20-100
SAE30 for 40-100

15-40 should be fine unless the tractor has lots of hours and some engine wear, then straight 30 works well. Ken Sweet

The tractor gets used mostly in the spring and fall but never in the winter when it unfortunately just sits. The farmer whom leases the land takes care of any snow.

If it were my tractor I'd be using 0-40 full synthetic. That's what goes in everything I own that goes up and down round and round.

It only has 1,240 hours on the clock which does work. For a machine with low hours that only gets occasional use, I think synthetic would be a better choice as well. However, I am not around that much to oversee what might get added if it should need some.

My neighbor is about 90 and she was not sure what was in it. One of her daughters comes more than the others. I may just hold off and ask her if she knows.
