Gentry crane advice needed.

When you build it you could make it like this one that has telescopic adjustable height. Also, don't weld a lug for the chain fall, buy a rolling trolley for it.

I have 2x2x1/4 it might be 3x3 but I have 2x2x on hand now and that's what I will use

He said in was a "gentry" crane. These are used in nursing homes to give grampa a bath or park him on the toilet (and retrieve him, of course).

If you're asking me, I have no idea of the size and thickness of the tubing on the HF gantry. I only posted the link as a reference for the OP to look at and get ideas from and make his similar with adjustable height due to his limited garage height..

I did look but saw nothing in regard to tubing thickness. They only listed specs such as minimum height, max height, length, width, wheel size and weight.

I'm sure the 1/4" stuff you have is waaaaaaaaaaaaayyy thicker the the HF units tubing.

That's why I don't want it just Nuts and bolts no weld.
