Finally got a free minute to take these in and get them changed out. They look great, really makes a difference on appearance. Glad I didn't decide to tackle this myself, would have taken all day and its pretty warm out. Thought about filling the tires, but I really haven't had any traction issues so opted not to at this time. You guys fill yours? How much difference? I think the extra weight would help with backhoe work...

Nice tires. What'd that set you back if you don't mind my asking.

For all 4 I want to say I was around $1400

What brand? Looking for some new ones. The best (cheapest) I found so far are some blems for $950 just for the rear 2.. But they are already mounted on the loop rims. $1400 for all for sounds much better.

edit: Nevermind.. I see Road Warrior. Where'd you find them at? Best I can find is $960 for 2, unmounted.

I bought them through a company on Amazon, fronts and rears.

12-16.5 fronts
16.9-24 rears

Searching for "backhoe tires" for the rears and "skidsteer tires" for the fronts helps bring up what you want.

Ok, Thanks.. I did see the 16.9s on there before - $1000 for 2. Same guy sells on eBay for $40 less.

Did your width increase enough to make a difference? I want to do this on my box blade tractor but do not really want to get wider than the blade.

needs a lift kit and a ranchhand bumper next.

Looks great

With the rears loaded the outriggers on the backhoe will not lift the rear tires off the completely off the ground but does stabilize the tractor.

They aren't wider in the rear, just taller.

Problem I have been having is when I'm digging hard dirt and I'm digging sideways at all, the hoe just drags the tractor around like a rag doll.

Bigger tires make everything look better and give better floatation and stability. I'm sure you marched the fronts to the rears but how did you do that?

What tires did you have before? I was under the impression that you didnt change rims.. If it was simply from 13.6 or 14.9, then you went wider and taller.

I had 420/70 - 24 before, so the 16.9 are just taller.

I used what Branson offered from the factory to match tire sizes.

I had the IND20 tire package, which was 10-16.5 fronts, and 420/70-24 rears
I installed the IND25 package, which is 12-16.5 fronts, and 16.9-24 rears.

Pretty common with most backhoes as strong as they can be. Just have to pick at what you are digging until you get at it or use a different bucket.
