Clever trailer invention

These trailer dollies are purpose built but you can't ride them to the mailbox.
Anyone use an ATV to move light trailers around, I have four small trailers (boat, PWC and utility) I keep in my back yard under carports and trying to hookup a full sized CC pickup without running over my wife's flower gardens is a pain not to mention tearing up the grass. My tractor would be perfect but it is kept on property 50-miles from my current residence. None of the trailers tonged weight would exceed 200lbs, I was curious if the axle of some of the smaller ATVs would support the extra weight and how would you attach the receiver.

An ATV hasn't worked out so well for me. Usually the ball that you can attach to the tongue is so far in that the trailer either rubs on your wheels when you turn very much or it's too high up in the frame so you have trouble closing the latch. Also, I have a heckuva time backing up with the trailer attached.

So, I just welded a 2 inch receiver on to my FEL bucket, and it is fantastic for moving trailers around with great precision.

Have used them. Works get ball and hitch aligned. Stored in back of truck, after a few years the foam will rot and the balls start to fall off.

I've used em lots of times. They work great. Taking an extra moment to ensure they're on the trailer and truck exactly straight is worth it, saves some time overall.

yep - I have a pair also, and use them on a regular basis. Well worth the $5 I paid several years ago. With those, you can hitch up in one shot perfectly every time. No dent license plates!

Looks like this Haule Trailer Tug will move almost any trailer but at a price. Just a neat piece of equipment.
