Many crime figures are subjective as to how they get reported. The ones we could easily compare are deaths, as I doubt they would get filed in the wrong column or the wrong box ticked. I looked up these figures from our published national statistics and with a calculator, come up with the following numbers :- England and Wales combined homicide figures for 2015 For every million of the population, a total of 8 died from homicide. The most common method of killing is by knife, or other sharp object and accounts for 3 of these out of every million people. Less than 1 person per million was killed by shooting.
