It ran/started great yesterday, nothing today.

Checked/cleaned all terminals
Battery, starter , fuses showing good amps

No lights, not even a click when the key is turned:confused3:

Any ideas?

Thanks

No specific idea, but... it has to be something that is common to everything electrical.

The key switch itself?

Yep^^^

Check power on both sides of the fuse box? If you don't have a multimeter go out and buy a good one.

Thanks guys, something was telling me to check the key switch, after removing a coil spring tower from the truck, cleaning all connections & checking amps was as far as i made it yesterday evening on the tractor.
Hopefully, the new coil tower will show up today & i'll get back to the tractor in a day or so.

Have you unbolted the were the neg terminal from the battery connects to the frame. It may look clean on top but the bolt could be rusty.

You said no lights, but it could be a safety switch problem. There is only 2 safety switches PTO and neutral switch. You can try using JD parts to help locate the switches.

I have included a picture and write-up on the 5303 starting system. You can use this to start tracing the problem.

Thermistor. Unplug its pigtail and it will start. Sensor is in front of block, coming out of thermistat housing, pigtail is on left side near the injector pump. Very common problem. Replace when you get a chance.

What I was thinking too until I saw where he said no blown fuses. Been following to see what he finds. Just had to unhook mine on 2008 JD 5303 last week or so to get back going. Still haven't changed the part.

Finally got back to it today, checked all in-line connections & sprayed them with contact cleaner, checked the switch, changed out all fuses, NOTHING.
I cleaned the in-line fuse connections near the cluster & took cables off battery, cleaned the fire out of them again, removed battery tinder cables & hooked everything back up, RUNNING:fing32:
The battery tinder leads had some rust on them, whether that or i just plain didn't clean connections good enough the first time, glad it was a simple fix, dealer was ready to come & get it if i wanted them to.

I've had a periodic no crank issue with our 2002 5303. If you fiddle with the right shifter for a while, you can get it to start up so I'm fairly certain it's the neutral safety switch. JD parts diagram only shows the switch but not the location. Anyone know where it's located on the tractor?

Thanks for any input!
