Over the years of servicing Bobcat CTs I've found them to be a little bit of a battle. Here is what I do when replacing the filter. Valve off. Replace filter. Leave loose to allow air to escape. Crank engine to fill filter housing. Careful it may start. Tighten filter housing. valve on. restart. I usually get lucky. You may want to crack the injector lines loose to purge any remaining air.

w00h00! She sputtered back to life. Thanks so much guys for the tips and info.

edit: I do have a question. I left it on 'air' and tried cranking it to fill the bowl per instructions. It didn't do that, the level stayed more or less the same. I filled it by hand by removing the bowl and replacing it. The whole reason for doing this was it losing power after running for a minute or so. Bad pump?

Usually the air bleed line that comes out just above the valve dips before it gets to the tank thus causing it to be filled with diesel in the dip that wont let the air pass. I shortened mine so it is a more straight shot to the tank up hill and it bleeds much better. Also if you remove this bleed line from the filter housing/ valve and place a yogurt container under the filter to catch fuel you can get all of the air out by turning it to bleed. It will bubble for quite some time until all the air is out. It also helps to have a full fuel tank. Last time I changed my filter I never had a blip in getting it back running.

Thats why I leave the filter housing loose and prime it. I've found the valve "AIR" position don't work to well.
