Took the plunge - bought an XR4140H

I own a Kubota L3000DT and a teramite backhoe and need something a bit bigger.
Big motivation is to have only one machine to maintain.

Shopped the big names including Kubota for a 40 hp machine.
Glad I went and looked at the LS machines. Very nice feature set, comfortable, good warranty and lots of good reviews for RCO Tractors.

Stuart at RCO walked me through the features today and I bought an XR4140H with backhoe and 6 foot brushog.

Looking forward to getting the machine and putting it to work.
Would like to thank everyone who participates on this forum. I learned alot and put it to use on this purchase.

Congrats!! I just purchased the exact same LS! Getting delivered on Saturday, can't wait. I almost pulled the trigger on a Branson but ended up going with the XR4140H (with BH) hope I made the right decision.

Tractor at dealer and being delivered tomorrow. Did inspection and walked through all the features, controls and maintenance points with the dealer.

Congrats! You will love it. Make sure you keep an eye on hardware and check things over periodically. Both control handles on my backhoe were loose (there are three socket head cap screws holding each handle to the valves). You will lose some hyd fluid when you change the filter but it isn't too bad. Other than that, it's a fantastic machine!

I generally do a walk around on my tractor every so often and check hoses, belts, gaskets for leaks etc. I do check for loose bolts and nuts on occasion but will make more effort with the new tractor.

Do you might sharing what the 4140h cost out the door with the backhoe and brush cutter? I'm hoping to pull the trigger on the exact setup in the next few months.

Always a good idea to have a grease gun in your hand during your walk arounds.

You will like dealing with RCO. I bought my XR4046HC at their Austin Store in late 2014. Passed by two other LS Dealers to deal with RCO.

Love the difference in operation over the gear drive Kubota. There is a bit of learning curve on the HST transmission.

Bucket flop is a concern and I think I will be fixing it as in other threads.

Tried to mow the back area of my property and almost managed to get it stuck twice. Got her out of the mud by some miracle and took 30 minutes to get all the mud off.

Thats a sharp rig! Wish I could get the backhoe for mine. Nothing wrong with a
little mud on your tractor

I have found that my 4155 treads very lightly compared to other equipment I have used and does very well in mud with the R4's.

The underbellys are soft on these newer tractors. You may want to look into putting a skid plate on there. Pretty easy on these.

I am about to purchase the same tractor and noticed you've had your for about a year and a half. Can you tell me your thoughts pro and con. I am also getting the BH. Which Hoe did you get, the LB2105 or the LB3104?

Pretty happy with the LS. Have not used it as much as I anticipated, have 40 hours on it. I have the 2105 BH and may be interested in selling it, since I only used it one time. (Sell the BH, not the tractor).

Overall, I am still happy with how the tractor has performed. It is a good machine and I recommend buying LS.
