After observing things "in action" over the last couple of days, I think I'm going to add some expanded metal across the back of the lower frame.

Had a couple of close calls with logs/branches protruding in ... the hoses from the front outlets on the crosstube to the grapple and the arms that lock the QA in are both vulnerable, along with a few other things ... like the quick-connects ...

My guess is a bit over 600 lbs.

Spent some time yesterday cleaning up the mess in the shop from this extravaganza ... still a ways to go, but it's getting better all the time.

Got a price on a sheet of 3/4 - #9 expanded metal for the lower frame.

With rain coming the next two days, might be a good time to handle that along with installing the guards for the QA pins and installing the Weather Pack connector on the wiring. Mebbe throw some sleeving on the hoses from the front outlets to the grapple and see if I can find a spring to retract the hoses up at the local hardware.

Still seem to have a fluid leak or two but pretty minimal at this point.

Instead of a sproingy type spring I got one of these for the grapple I am building - constant force spring like what is in commercial hose reels. I think it might be tidier.

Took U. B. down to the steel place yesterday and we picked up 5' x 10' piece of expanded metal. He was wanting to replace the wood floor on his little trailer and I had mentioned adding some expanded metal to the lower frame of the grapple for protection. He cut out what he needed and I got the drops ... which is more than enough to cover the lower frame. So getting that welded on is what's on the menu today, along with fixing a couple of minor hydraulic leaks and maybe getting the Weather Pack connector installed on the wiring harness for the diverter valve.

Going to swap the hoses going to the grapple around while I'm fixing the leaks, so that pulling back on the joystick raises the loader and raises the grapple jaw when the diverter button is pressed.
