I agree with these posts- unless it is a family heirloom being handed down??
Then depending on just how important (keeping it in the family is) and go from there.

Otherwise look locally- they built a whole bunch of them- but if buying it to do work, i defer to the previous posts.

here's another vote for buy another one local.

I mean they arn't totally worthless. If you have pasture weeds to mow, or driveway to blade... They pull a 2 bottom well... (if you know how to set it up)

Or better yet. Sell and then offer to haul to your new location for a fee.. then buy local and have extra pocket money.

I think mine will do 20 mph. So you could drive it.
You could rent a uhaul and drive it for the one-way rate. It would fit inside.

Drive it! Make it some sort of charity event, collect funds/pledges and TV coverage (to help defer the costs too).

Visit small towns & landmarks on the way along with your 'support team'.

The best possible outcome would be if you ended up with a nice check from your insurance company and the 8N ended up in a ditch.

As a registered uShip provider I am going to say probably not what you want to do if you are going to ship a lot of miles. I mainly move my own tractor around and every once in a while find someone willing to pay the price to move a car or tractor a couple hundred miles. A qualified equipment mover is probably wanting over $1 mile to move your tractor, at least I would. You can list the tractor in the hopes that someone will haul it just for gas money to get back home.

Sure it's feasible to ship anything across country. I used uShip to haul an old IH plow from Illinois to Northern CA and a JD two-row planter from Minnesota. Cost was $300-400 each.

Howeer, unless you're a tractor collector and there is something really special about this particular 8N, forget about it.

If you really want an 8N, buy locally.

Be aware that these are 50-60 year old tractors that usually are very worn (engine and transmission) and can become money pits to get running again.
