Well I have been on this project for about a month and have been forgetting to post it so here it is.

Started out with a $200 2000 ranger off craigslist just cause it needed soft plugs. Had bought it for no reason besides it was cheap and I'll figure something to do with it. Then some friends of ours called and asked if we could keep out a look for a cheap truck. The one I gave them 2 years ago is one is last legs. So this ranger soil be going to them.

Started out with trying to do soft plugs with engine in and no luck, talked to the local back yard mechanic and he said either raise the cab a few inches or pull the motor. I also had to seperate the tranny cause of a soft plug inside the bell housing.

Budget so far
Truck $200
Parts $50
Used tranny $100
Used motor, seats door $325

Pulling the motor first time. Took hood off for ease 1458050520831.jpg

Now when the tranny was separated I don't know who but the shaft that goes into the torque converter got flipped around and jammed so then it wouldn't come out. About 6 hrs of trying to get the tranny to bolt on, my twin stripping threads on the bell housing and having to retap the hole finally texted my buddy and found out it won't come out. So got on craigslist and found a used one for $100. Got it and my dad and I had ur on in 30 min. Bolted and then dropped the motor in and got to going. Ran it some and motor quite. Went back to the guy I got the tranny and bought his motor and not it sits on a pallet and old motor just got lifted out last night. Will be stripping the motor for parts and put it on the trailer for scrap this week. Weight limits are on and it's $60ish a ton1458051181664.jpg

Here is a link to first video of the build but I got a few more posting

Is that the 3.0 or the 4.0?

I really like those little trucks, I've had one extended cab and two regular cab long-beds, all stick.

3.0 box automatic. We have only owned single cabs.

Lil story not to try and side track but last Thursday my cousin and our buddy came up with their jeeps. Ain't seen them for months and the summer of 2014 he lived with us and bought a lil cheap 4 banger manual ranger. Man we had some times with that thing and ran it into the ground. He broke the tail shaft and then moved out and it sat in the way so it got sold. But he drove this and whipped out in the pasture with it and it brought back some good memories and he might buy another one cause they are so nice and fun. Then we took their jeeps and had a little fun out in the swamp on the back acres.

Alright back to the thread. Was on lunch break and got the new motor set on our utility trailer And moved it into the barn and will get the old one separated and striped. Plan is to load it on the front of the trailer then unload the new one and move the old one until it gets loaded onto the big trailer to scrap

That's the scene around the farm. Big trailer to the left side, mud truck loaded with scrap, Raney got pushed out by had with a seat from a ext. can that won't fit, and the tractor and trailer with the new motor. If you look hard you can see the engine and tranny Still way in the air from the ranger

Well nothing much new. Got exhaust put on, had to torch it some and bend it to fit, old motor was stripped mostly. Had got started setting motor but had to pull out cause I needed the shop open for my dad's gf jeep. Nothing more right now. Motor and tranny sits on a cart waiting till next week. On spring break and working like crazy
