Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

You guys are lucky, no Harbor Freight here (Canada) but we do have Princess Auto and Canadian Tire, similar but not quite the same.

There is a lunch truck guy that I know that goes to various auctions around the state that bought a generator from Harbor Freight a year ago. I figured it would last him about two weeks. Anyway, that was over a year ago and he uses it two or three days a week and it runs most of the day in the back of the pickup. He has had no troubles with it.

Now, this isn't a recommendation on my part so I'm just telling my tale. Just an FYI.

I would recommend my Predator to anyone. I have it and an older Briggs, the Briggs has always started but the Predator has as well - plus it has more watts, electric start, and looks much nicer. First oil change it had a **** of a lot less metal in the oil than when I did a new Honda push mower.

I did replace the spark plug, it broke. The manual did not have that info which did piss me off a bit.

I still enjoy these HF threads.. But my closest store is an hour and half one way. And they dont do the catelogs anymore ..sadly. So My HF days are in the past now..(feeling abandonded by HF)

They have everything online and very reasonable shipping costs. I know we all need to look at some things in person.

Only one store in Maine. I find this shocking.

They've been opening so many stick-and-brick stores here in the Mid-Atlantic, I hadn't realized they still aren't nationwide.

Their website says 600 stores, and Wikipedia says they're in 47 states. I remember first seeing flyers on inexpensive newsprint as far back as the late seventies/early 80s. As far as catalogs go, the first thing that pops up on the website these days is a "Receive Free Discount Coupons and Catalogs" window. Maybe that's different from the catalogs Chopped refers to. Or maybe they've blacklisted a few zip codes.

They send me a paper catalog monthly and email coupons more than weekly.

What did you do to get blacklisted?

And every firearms oriented magazine is full of the adds and coupons.
