I do not drink much, really have not found a beer I like but do enjoy a nice glass of whiskey on a Sunday evening. For years I drink Jack Daniels, either regular or Gentleman Jack. My wife introduced me to Fireball last night, it was good but not something I would drink regularly. I have heard of Rebecca Creek, but have yet to try it. For you whiskey drinkers, what are some good ones to try?

My favorite whiskey is actually Absolut Vodka, mixed with a little Sprite. If I were to buy whiskey, though I would opt for R&R and/or Crown Royal.

I reckon I've tried a little of everything at one time or another in my lifetime, and tastes do change over the years. I used to be a Budweiser beer drinker. Now I keep a few Shiner Bock beers in the shop refrigerator; won't drink 6 a year; only have a cold one when I get hot and sweaty working in the yard. I know bourbon or just the Tennessee and Kentucky whiskeys are supposed to be popular, but I just never liked the taste. When we had a house with a wet bar, I had a bottle of Jack Daniels that set there for 11 years; no one we knew liked that stuff. Now I like to keep a bottle of Crown Royal on hand; just have a drink occasionally in Coke Zero. Before I was 21, I remember an older friend telling me that Scotch was an acquired taste; that no one liked it at first. But I was 25 when a neighbor offered me a Johnny Walker Red Label scotch and water, and I decided with one taste that if I were going to drink whiskey, scotch would be the one. In recent years, I learned of single malt scotch and that's what I keep on hand; again only occasionally have a scotch and water.

What I DO drink, not every day, but most afternoons before supper, is a glass of Franzia or Carlo Rossi Sangria.

As a young police officer, I learned that the wine of choice among the street people (homeless alcoholics) was Thunderbird. I had occasion to taste it once and figured I'd just as soon drink kerosene. But in the late '60s or early '70s the wine of choice changed to MD 20-20. I don't know why it changed from the white Thunderbird to the red MD 20-20, but I've always wanted to taste MD 20-20; just not enough to buy a bottle, since I'm pretty sure I would not like it.

My beer of choice is Molsons' Canadian or Bud in the states. Now Whiskey is a horse of a different colour. I prefer Drambuie, but I will settle for Wisers Deluxe, Royal Reserve or Silk Tassel. I am not allowed to drink OFC, it is Only For Catholics, which I am not. I tried wine and don't really like it.

Love visiting microbrew brewery's......some great beers out there......love IPAs and stouts......have visited many along the West coast. As for whiskey.........Maker's Mark is good and so is Black Velvet Special Reserve.........the special reserve is aged years longer than the regular BV. I like whiskey with only a little ice.

Ice cold Molsons while kicking back.

I found that Evan Williams is the best bang for the buck in bourbon.

Bulleit Rye is very good. Also Woodford Reserve if you're feeling fancy.

My normal is Jack Daniel's Black Label but on "Special" occasions I like Jack Daniel's Single Barrel. Both with ice and a splash of club soda.

Corona with lime and salt on a hot day.

Had a Boston Lager with lunch at the TGI Fridays near Broadway and Wall Street, in Manhattan, a few months ago and really liked it.

I'll second the Buffalo Trace. Also Woodford Reserve. or Basil Haydens.

If you want to try a really different whiskey, give Clyde Mays craft whiskey a try.

The other day I was looking at Ethanol on the Internet. Came up with one site saying the whiskey's requiring aging in barrels is running low in stock due to demand and insuffient stock in the aging process. There were indications that some would run out and/or become expensive.

At present some European Beers and Corona Light are my preferred choice. The mini breweries will also rate but many have too large a bottle size or high alcohol content.

During our years of full time RVing, we visited just about every museum we found, only a couple of beer breweries, and several wineries. In each of the wineries we visited, admission was free, and free samples were offered, and I bought a little wine at each one EXCEPT one in Sauk City, WI. That one had a $6 admission charge and I did sample some of their wine without finding anything that I would have carried home if it had been free. I'm sure they knew their wine was so bad visitors weren't likely to buy any, hence the admission charge.

Visited the Amana Village in Amana Iowa a few years back; Millstream Brewery there had some of the best beer I have ever had (Windmill wheat). There is a winery that had excellent wines; my favorite was their cranberry.

I used to prefer Crown Royal/7up when I was a whiskey drinker. When I went to work in Venezuela, they didn't have Crown or 7 up so I found a local substitute for 7 up that was similar but not the same and when I ordered whiskey and Chinotto(7up equivalent) I got the foulest tasting stuff ever. After 6 or more months of this, I met up with an expat from Oklahoma who explained to me that to get bourbon you had to ask for whiskey Americano otherwise you got Scotch whiskey. Well by that time, I had gotten used to the scotch and bourbon didn't really taste that well so I have been a scotch drinker ever since. Now it is a rare occasion for me to drink. I buy about a case of beer per year (Miller light or Coors or Corona-not too choosy other than NOT Budweiser) Any way my favorite Scotch is a single malt called Glenfiddich at least 12 years old. Glenlivet is also good single malt. J&B is a fair blended scotch but is kind of watered down tasting compared to a good single malt.

That is the only way I drink whiskey-3 ice cubes. No water or soda. Used to drink jack and coke, but too much coke upsets my stomach.
