Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Compared to other 40 tooth blade I must have got at the local lumber counter they're almost identical in tooth hook shape the only noticeable difference being the slots.

These 2 photos show them doubled up. They are stacked atop of each other.

Bought the 7" grinder last night. I'm a pretty big advocate of HF, but I'm still wary of their power tools. It was around 40 bucks with a coupon and extra 1 year warranty.

So far so good. Put it through the wringer today while putting a wood splitter together, grinding and cutting 3/4" and 1/2" plate. Made two 10" cuts through 1/2" plate with no trouble, 30 minutes of non-stop cutting. I may never use my 4.5" grinder again.

We'll see if it continues to hold up.

I have one of those. It decided to not shut off with the handle switch anymore and has to be unplugged to stop. Made it useless and dangerous. Not sure it's worth taking it apart to see if I can fix it.

Well he did mention there was non stop cutting

On my oldest HF grinder the switch gave out too, I just put in a lamp switch on the cord real close to the cord. Not ideal, but it keeps on working.

I got some ammo boxes and gift cards from Harbor Freight for Christmas... must be on the naughty list!

Quite the contrary! My family cringes when I tell them I'm going to HF. They equate such trips with "more of your junk in the garage". I would therefore take receipt of an HF gift card as a sign of true love and recognition of good behavior. No, you were on the good list.

I have their US General complete toolbox on casters. Overall a a great product. Sturdy casters, smooth roller bearing drawers, all boxes are square and fit together nicely, paint is decent quality, and overall pretty thought out. I would rate them a 5/5 for home or hobby usage.

I also have their 2 ton cherry picker engine lift, no issues with it, does what it is supposed to, it's a bit rough around the edges and some things are no aligned perfectly on the cosmetic end, but completely functional for home / hobby use I would rate it 4/5.

Their 6 ton jack stands with urethane pads also held up nicely and are pretty sturdy in the garage. No issues with them also give them a 4/5. Need to get a another set of them since they work as well as any other brand for home use. Obviously no Hein-Werners, but also not 5 times the cost.

The cast iron grinder & buffer pedestal is heavy and study with a ability to bolt on the garage. No issues also a great product 5/5 stars.

Professional impact sockets that you do not care about as much are also well made, never had a failure with even a 1200 ft. lb. 1/2 impact wrench, never failed. works well 4/5 stars.

Professional ratchet wrenches (the polymer variety with the 72 tooth ratchet mechanism) also work well, not as smooth as a Snap-on but for general use around the house and cars they work well and are pretty comfortable. Also 4/5 stars.

The folks on the good list got Craftsman gift cards...

Nah, those poor guys have to go to the big malls and fight for parking. HF is usually in strip malls where parking is easier.
