How do I know if I have a HSTC-3?

Anyone know how to tell the differences of hst vs hst-3?

One difference is;the HST use a lever for PTO engagement ,the HST-3 uses a pull-up button.I am sure there are other differences also.

If your seat swivels about 15 degrees left and right, then you have the HST-3.

Yep the stock seat on an L40 HST-3 swivels. There is a pedal right in the front you pull up on and swivel until it clicks and locks in place.

The C means Cab. That part should be obvious... Not sure what they added later on with the 2-speed HST motor or the auto throttle stuff. Maybe that was there from the beginning.

My older M9 is an HDCC3 which denotes Hydraulic Shuttle Cab Creep gears which adds 3 ranges to the gearbox. Note, the 2 speed pto (540 / 1000) has no model letter designation.

My seat swivels as well and it's air ride too.

That's exactly what I don't understand. Does the 3 mean 3 ranges? I have cab, lever PTO, auto throttle advance, turtle/rabbit speeds....

Woods says they have a subframe but it's for HSTC-3

Does your tractor have at serial number sticker on dash? My M7040 does and it shows my tractor is a HDC-1 so your model might be listed on sticker if it has one.

There is an old thread on here somewhere, but of course I can't find it. The differences between the -1, -2 and -3 are minor, all have HST+ with three range HI/LO transmissions. The engines, frames etc. are the same.

Mine is a 2008 HSTC(L4240) and has three ranges,lever PTO,auto-throttle,high-low in every gear.
I wouldn't think there would be a frame difference between the HSTC-1,HSTC-2 or HSTC-3;just a few upgrades/minor changes.
