For those that might need this info here it is. The Zero Start block heater part # for a G3033 is 3100016 and the Kat's part # is 11422.

I forgot to add that the Zero Start block heater goes in the right rear frost plug hole in the 6 o'clock position for the 3033.

From what my dealer told me, these start with no problems in my Colorado climate. I'm curious to see if I have issues. I bet in AK you would need it!

Hi
a friend of mine works at a rental place and is giving me a magnetic block heater.
I did not want to take out the freeze plug. thinking if something goes wrong it would void my warranty?
He says it just sticks on the oil pan? sounds good to me!

qhunter the Kats magnetic heater just doesn't work well at least for me. I had a Kats magnetic heater on my tractor (transmission) the other night for about 3 hours and I also had a Kats 250watt self adhesive heat pad on the other side of my transmission to test them. Well the hot pad had heated things up very well and the magnetic heater hadn't really heated anything. The magnetic heater's I have stick on good but the actual heating pad just doesnt quit touch the surface due to the magnets sticking out a bit. I have had the same experience using the magnetic heaters before they just do not make positive contact with the surface of what ever they are sticking on due to the magnets sticking out too far. Now because I'm in a very cold climate I stay with the hot pads that stick directly to the suface. A magnetic heater may work better were its not so cold all winter? I would go with the engine block heater anytime over a magnetic heater. Your local dealer should be able to help you with the installation of a engine block heater? Just my two cents

What is the recall for Rick? I haven't heard of any recalls for the 3033 engine?

I have a 2014 g3033h got a letter about 2 months ago. Saying it had a piston issue that made it fail emmissions testing. they have to rip the motor down and repair. but it says it wont hurt the motor to run it! I have been looking on the internet (and here)for others getting the recall but nothing.
When I get home I will look for the letter and post info!

Yes please post info when you can. I recently bought my 2014 G3033H so this info would be nice and I will call my dealer for info also.

Thanks for the heads up Rick

Hi letter says L3AL and L3BL engines had a assembly problem. They are in LS G3033 and G3038 tractors.
any questions call 252-984-0700 or service department 252-955-4852.
If I were you I would get your serial number and call them!

My friend gave me 2 magnetic block heaters!
Where should I put them?
Should I leave them on all the time or a few hours before starting?

One on the oil pan and one on the side of the block. The amount of time it takes to heat will be a learning experience on what your interpretation of warm is. I'd start at 1 hour and see how warm it feels to you.
