My 2015 G3033 just had its first mechanical failure. I was brush hogging my food plot and as I started backing up a hill my steering got hard to turn. I stopped and saw immediately the snapped tie rod.
I was able to limp back to the barn. Called my dealer and ordered a new assy which included the tie rod ends. He will have it in 3 days. The price was $99 so I don't think that's bad, the old tie rod ends seem to articulate easy enough so not sure why this happened. I did wonder why there is no grease zero but again it still moves ok.
Interesting was the dealer said that tie rod/pipe was on back order with LS. Also, apparently the G3033 and the G3038 use the same part. The dealer said he just sold his last stock tie rod to a guy with a G3038. I wonder if this is a common failure.
I'm kinda a diy guy so I'm planning on welding up the old tie rod and keeping it as a spare.
So, anyone else have a similar failure? I'm not complaining. I use my tractor so replacing a $99 part after 8yrs is not bad.
