Honda trx 350 rusty frame

Hi. My trusty and we'll used Honda trx 350 atv has a rusting frame. It had been Shedd ed for 18 months and now I have had it serviced and been informed I need to brace the rusted chasis between the front wheels and even better build a bash plate to the whole frame. Anyone done this? Is it even worth it? Do I have to take the motor out?

The motor sits pretty far back. If the damage is between the A arms I doubt you would need to remove it.

You will need to remove all of the powder coat or your going to have problems welding the tube. A TIG and silicon bronze filler is generally a good choice to repair thin rusted tubing.

I would consider selling it off and buying a new or newer model.

I have a 1986 250 Fourtrax... I had big plans to rebuild it, etc. it's currently in pieces and has been for 5 years. I'll just reassemble and sell off this winter. I now have a "new" 2003 Honda Foreman 450 ES that I love... Way better than the old one! Just my two cents!
