DE that's a nice view. I can see what you're scraping out of the jungle, nice place! I'm probably going to build a ripper tooth for my mini-excavator.

Them'er some heavy stumps!

You need to make a chain bucket, bolt it to the FEL on the left side by your left knee.

Thanks Sodo... yeah a million dollar view!

A storage spot for the chains is definitely on the project list... and probably exactly as you suggested. Plus a holster for my small chainsaw.

Hey Dragoneggs
Does your BX25d have the Bro-Tek wheel spacers fitted ?
Just in your photos it looks like it has spacers installed.

I don't know if the pond will come to fruition as my better half thinks it will attract mosquitos. Many folks around here have issues with them especially just after sunset but for some reason we have zero of the little buggers on our property and immediate surroundings.

Maybe you have bats. Bats are good.

Hired a guy with a big excavator, not sure the size but made made pretty quick work of the hillside. My goal for now is to clean the pile and recover the area. I told the guy that did the clearing it would take me years to pick the pile and burn... he said just leave it... each year the pile will get smaller. I'm just not a patient guy.

Hi DE,

Wow, great project, lovely place, and nicely framed and balanced pictures.

If you want a pond but no skeeters, put koi in it.

Our koi love to eat the adults, the eggs, and the larvae, so we never see many here.

I followed your links to your lighting thread and was amazed by that as well.

Thanks for sharing,
Thomas

I have so many stumps on my property I am going to need to deal with eventually. The property was logged for years prior to us building our house on it and we also had a few dozen trees cut down to create our view of the Puget Sound that I will need to clean up.

I have been beating the heck up out of my BX25 since purchasing it in August. It is a pleasure to use. I have 86 hours on it already and am starting to get sad as the days get shorter :).

My additions (mostly after following a lot of Dragoneggs progress prior to my tractor purchase):
1. Piranha Tooth Bar - This thing is built like a tank
2. Under Armor - definitely a must have to protect the under carriage if you are in lot of rough areas like I have been.
3. Bro-Tek wheel spacers for front and back - these made a huge difference and gave me a lot more stability in working on my hills.
4. Quick-On Back Hoe Bucket Connector - makes changing backhoe attachments a breeze
5. Trencher bucket
6. Back Hoe Ripper - So far, I have not found this to be a great way to deal with my stumps. The backhoe simply does not seem to have enough power/stability to allow this to really dig in and go through any decent size roots

What I really am finding I want:
1. A grapple - I have been dealing with a lot of blackberries and brush and think a grapple would make this a lot easier.. Maybe next spring when I get back into clearing more

Hey Russell... sounds like you are addicted. Sorry 'bout that but I didn't start it. 275hrs later I am wishing I had a grapple and quick attach for the brush and debris removal. I am on the home stretch of clearing and burning the debris as well as harvesting firewood and I have done it with mainly using the FEL and a chain and hooks on the bucket. The grapple would have been a much better tool. Now I don't think I can justify it.

Stumps are a challenge and demand creativity. I have been learning how to wrestle with these things. All shapes, sizes, and weights. Depending on the number and size of stumps you have, you may want to hire an experienced operator with a large excavator to come in for a day. Then you can deal with the mess at your leisure and 'scape your property the way you want things.
