YM336D Block Heater

Where I park my tractor under the shed is about 75ft from the power source. I went today and bought a 100ft cord which has 12/3 wires in it. I hope this will be heavy enough to handle the 400 watt heater.

I finally got around to installing the block heater. I could not believe it when I put the power handle on it came out like it had been installed yesterday instead of 30+ years ago. Was that a screw in plug that you removed or a freeze plug. I have not been able to budge mine.

100' 12 gauge is good for 14 or 15 amps. Your heater is probably pulling less than 4 amps.

It was a screw in. A gray tractor may have not had antifreeze or rust preventive maintained in it for the past 30+ years. That was my concern but I hadn't thought about the antifreeze aspect.

Thanks for the info. My 14 gauge would have most likely worked. I can always use another cord. Got a good deal in it ($36.00 tax included). Electricity is not my strongest ability.
