I'd check on the legality of studded tires. AFAIK, they're only legal for mail carriers in my area. I had a 1/2 ton truck, snow tires, limited slip, and of course 4-wheel drive. I did get stuck a couple times trying to push back akward banks. Other than that, it's a go-anywhere setup.

Got rid of the plow in favor of a 74" blower. Cut my snow clearing time in half. Arctic Carharts make up for the lack of cab/heat. =)

I actually plowed for two years with just the stock non-snows on! I was amazed at what I could do until I got stuck...then I got the studded ones. These were rated number one at the time...General Altimax Arctic...have not been stuck since and I've been in some awful places!

So, in trying to un-hook the plow for the first time I did some accidental back dragging on my driveway, and noticed that the plow doesn`t stay put... as in; started in V and ended in scoop. I do remember seeing something about cylinder lock as an option... what can you tell me about this?

I can't offer much help but to say check with a dealer and have your pump & plow model # with you. I think that they came out with "lock" to allow for back dragging, but I think that might be a function in the valve body, not the cyls. There are a few snow plowing sites - forums, where there are dealers and a lot of guy's that would know such things that would give you an answer, or maybe a cheap fix.

I hope I'm posting this link to my youtube correctly. This is a recent modification to my schulte 6200 that I've been running stock with the exception of the drift cutters that I added 8 years ago. It is not uncommon to get drifts in excess of 4' here. Have not run this mod in snow yet as we didn't get any snow last year. Normally we get quite a bit. I also started running ag tires 3 years ago and don't worry about getting stuck anymore. I have too many clients that wouldn't want me using chains on their driveways.

I'm looking forward to your second video. At first I was thinkning that you are going to need a shield across the rear of the blower to keep your top paddles from throwing the snow over the Schulte. But then I thought some more and figured if it wasn't turning that fast then it won't throw it too far anyways.

I thought about needing a shield early on in planning but agree with you that I probably will not need it. If I had one it would greatly block my view from the cab of debris ( branches, firewood, etc.)that might be present in the snow not to mention the neighbors cat. The first engine I put on it did not have the 6:1 gear reduction on it that it now has and ran much faster than I really wanted it too. It probably would have required a shield.

p.s. A piece of firewood will do a number on your auger.

Very cool... but wouldn't a piece of sheet metal running 45deg have been simpler? It would have just pushed the snow down to the auger.... even expanded steel so you can see through it would have probably done the trick...

In California we have what is commonly referred to as sierra cement. An angled plate would have caused the snowblower to ride up briefly right prior to bringing the tractor to an abrupt stop. I experienced a small version of this event caused by the expanded lath you see on the video that support the drift cutters that I have run for the last 8 years or so. Unfortunately the snow here, or whatever you want to call it, requires a more mechanical approach

I found the ATV to be little light duty for the 4-7 driveways I was taking care of... I think this will be much better.

You will want dual batteries i think. I run a 05 Duramax. I identical truck but white with a little 7.5'western straight. Even that with no lights will suck a good bit of power

Doesn't a duramax come stock with 2 batteries? 1 battery and a 100A alternator did me just fine.

Yes they do come dual. Even with that our small plow you can tell takes a good chunck of power just replaced our alternator about a month ago

Has anyone used an FCC Model 120 V plow on their Skid Steer or FEL yet? It has this Sequential Cylinder change so you can supposedly run regular Aux Hydraulics to this V plow and it will change from V to Straight to Angle to scoop. Just trying to get the poop on this thing. No one around here sells them

Yes true..Its got chains and a 1 1/2 pressure treated block for susoension lift. HF electric winch to raise. Plow is old oil tanks side,I was inspired by a buick I saw that had a plow and they had a 4 x 4 that piveted across the roof. So the driver would reach through the sunlight and raise it by pulling it.
